iOS 11 - Clock on lock screen disappears

After upgrading my iPhone SE to iOS 11, the clock on lock screen disappearred.

When I restart, the clock reappears, but again it disappears.

Is there any other solution other than restarting the iPhone?

Looks like this is (maybe) a perm fix. I have had this issue since 11 and re-boot no luck, reset and reinstall from backup no luck, reinstall totally clean no luck. But this easy fix / workaround seems to have worked:

Settings -> Display -> View -> Zoomed and then Settings -> Display -> View -> Standard.

So far almost a full day and no disappearing clock.

I’m currently down to using 2 Apple widgets and 4 third party widgets and I haven’t had the issue for a few weeks. I’ve been disabling them one at a time. The latest I removed was Crime & Place. Current active are Find Friends, Blackberry Work, Wunderground, My Verizon Data, Google Calendar and Batteries. I think it’s a system resource cap thing. My last round I removed Verizon instead of Crime and Place, and before that BBWork keeping the others, and while that didn’t ultimately fix the issue the recurrence did go down significantly. It seems to be more the sum of which widgets you’re running as opposites to particular widgets causing problems.

They will most likely "Reset" the phone because that seems to be apples only fix.....FOR EVERYTHING. My phone was brand new from the store and was doing that, talk to tech support and off course they told me to go any further I had to update to the latest IOs 11.2, but I knew that wouldn't fix anything because users here were reporting the same issue with the latest ios.

I disabled all my widgets except the weather and calendar a couple days ago and so far so good, haven't had the issue considering it was happening every day. I'll be turning on my widget one by one on a weekly basis to see when the problem surfaces again. Regardless this isn't a fix for this issue. We should not be forced to turn off a convenient feature because Apple has no fix for the issue.

I had updated it to ios11.2.5, and still had the same problem. I did what you suggested just that I had to reboot my iPhone (Thank you!):

Setting —> Display and Brightness —> Text size —> zoom (move the zoom button all the way to the right) —> reboot the iPhone —> the time and signal/battery indicators are back again :) —> go to Display to zoom back the Text size.

Hope Apple can fix this bug soon!

I had been having this issue for months and couldn't figure it out. apple support couldn't help either, they just kept having me reset the phone and it didn't help. I had this black image with a logo in the middle as my lock screen background, I figured this could the only other cause. I changed the background to something else and I haven't had the issue since. Hope this helps. Have no idea why it does this.

the only permanent fix that seems to have fixed the issue for me was to turn off all my widgets except for the weather, calendar and news widgets. I'm going to start turning on my other widgets one by one to see which one causes the issues again. I'm almost certainly sure that it is the widgets causing this at this point since this was a daily occurrence for me and since turning the widgets off I have not had the issue.

Yeah apple is acting like this is not a problem and ignoring the complaints. They must not know what's wrong. I was ready to send the phone back and get an 8. My phone was doing it since the phone was released in November and it was very annoying. Hopefully others are able to resolve the issue. Changing my wallpaper did the trick but others may have a different cause.

Thanks A lot!! I imagine so many other people are having this issue and are getting annoyed. These new IOSs are full of bugs and Apple is ignoring the complaints. My screen also goes black sometimes during phone calls and I am not able to hit any buttons or end the call. I am almost at my limit with this iPhone. This has been the worst year for iPhones.

I had this same problem as well with my iPhone 6s. Got to the point where my phone would only get to the start up white screen with the apple logo when restarting it. so I upgraded to the iPhone 8 Plus, 24 hours later and I’m back at the apple store because the same thing is happening to my very expensive phone I paid out of pocket for . They “fixed” it by reinstall My software and it’s still happening. I’m seriously considering a Sony Experia. All this apple trouble is really ticking me off. I think I’ll pay the 50$ reboxing fee and suck it up.
