How do I remove the music player from the lock screen in iOS 11?
I need to see my notifications. I don't use the music player... I will NEVER use the music player. It's taking up valuable real estate.
Thanks!
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.0.1

So is there an update on this?
This quite annoying and eating up real estate on the lock screen !!
Fix it Apple, we don’t need or want the music player control on our lock screens all the time !!!!!!!!
Ok I've had this problem as well. This is what I did. First off let me say this issue was plaguing me for over a month! I called AppleCare several times and got nowhere. Their solution was to restart the phone from scratch, delete everything and remake the phone as brand-new. Here's what I did:
If you're using a bluetooth connection with a car or speaker, Delete it.
Any app like Pandora or Spotify on your phone delete it and reinstall.
Re-pair your phone with your car or external speaker.
Problem solved. At least for me! Again I was struggling with this for over a month and tried everything that has been suggested in the past 19 pages and nothing worked. I believe this is a bluetooth related bug. Since upgrading to iOS11 I've had nothing but trouble with the bluetooth working properly in my car. Incidentally I'd be curious to know if anyone else has trouble with their car's bluetooth. I have a 3 year old BMW. Cheers and I hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I just “forgot” all of my Bluetooth devices from my phone and it did not work for me. I also removed any and all “music” apps from my phone but the music sheet is still on the lock screen. As I am typing this, however, I restarted my phone and it is looking good. I think this did the trick.
To recap, forget Bluetooth devices and then restart the phone.
Yup. And by the way, the two iPhone 7’s in my house don’t have this issue. It only seems to affect iPhone 6 and earlier, much like the flashlight not working on low power debacle. Probably just another ploy by Apple to force us to upgrade... 😡
This was an issue for me on my iPhone X. It was Bluetooth related. As aforementioned, the “fix” is to unpair all Bluetooth devices, restart the phone, and then repair Bluetooth devices. Apple should fix this minor (yet incredibly annoying) bug with a future software update. Until then, I highly recommend unpairing and restarting. It’s nice to have my lock screen back.
2nd that notion from Mr Locke.. Iphone X, Bluetooth issue, lock screen. all of it.

Also have a 3 year old BMW. Forgot all Bluetooth connections, paired with the car again, but no luck. Also happens with an aftermarket head unit in our other car.
Bluetooth speaker is less an issue since resetting the phone, but this needs a patch, not all of us jumping through hoops.
This happens to me after I’ve been in my car. So the music player pops up with audio Bluetooth. The problem is it then never goes away from my lock screen. I can disable Bluetooth and it still won’t go away from my lock screen. I have to restart the phone to get it to go away. This has only started since the recent iOS update.
Instead of disabling Bluetooth, try unpairing your Bluetooth device (car) in the Bluetooth settings. Then restart your phone. Repair your Bluetooth device and see if the music sheet bug still persists. For me, this eliminated the bug.
A few posts back, you mentioned that Apple recommended “solution was to restart the phone from scratch, delete everything and remake the phone as brand-new”.
I took that as that I needed to erase my phone and start all over. Is that what you did? Or just “forgot” all of your Bluetooth devices, and reloaded them? I’m confused.
My PC took a dump, and I just refuse to buy another PC, because I never used it. so now I’m struggling with the fact that iProducts require you to have a PC to connect them to iTunes for diagnostic/repair services- or to backup/restart your phones..
🙄
Fixed it...Delete the music app...restart the phone...then it works and it will not show up again...However it appears this is a bug as there is now way to delete the lock screen music if the app exists. It comes back if you play music or turn on blue tooth. For now I deleted the music app as I do not play music on my iphone at all just blue tooth...definitely a bug.
I believe the post to which you are referring was someone else’s. I did not restore my iPhone as a new device. I simply selected my various Bluetooth devices inside of the Bluetooth settings page and unpaired, or “forgot” them. Then I turned the phone off and back on and then I re-paired my various bluetooth devices. This eliminated the bug.
As for backing up your iPhone, I highly recommend using iCloud to do this. Apple’s iCloud service is free if your backup is not that big and if it is, I personally feel the small monthly fee is worth the peace of mind and the ease with which the backup process is completed. Without doing anything, my iPhone gets backed up nightly and I don’t have to worry. This way you avoid having to plug your iPhone into a computer to back it up. Apple made this move a few years back when the iPhone became many customer’s primary (or only) computer.
Hope this helps.
I was able to get the music player to stop appearing on the lock screen by quitting all open apps (double-pressing the “home” button, then swiping up on each open app), and then powering-down the phone (holding the power button until the “slide to power off” message appeared, then sliding as instructed). When I turned the phone back on, the music player stopped showing up in the lock screen.
Okay, going to Settings, then ITunes and App Store and turning off Video Autoplay worked for me. I now just have to start the music when I get in my car since it won’t autoplay now, which I prefer anyway.
This worked for me to get rid of Pandora player screen from my locked screen....
Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad and then go to 'Touch ID & Passcode' Under the “Allow Access When Locked” section, toggle the switches next to “Today View” and “Notifications View” to the OFF position. Exit out of Settings and lock the device again, swiping over will now do nothing.Sep 25, 2016
Would you be confused if you had a gnarly wart on your nose...it isn't harming anything...but for some strange reason you wanted it removed just because you don't want it there and you didn't request that it be there?
