How do I remove the music player from the lock screen in iOS 11?
I need to see my notifications. I don't use the music player... I will NEVER use the music player. It's taking up valuable real estate.
Thanks!

I'm confused. The Music player on the lock screen, only appears if you are actively playing something when you turn on the screen. If you have not been playing anything, or pause it and unlock the iPhone and then turn off the iPhone, the playback section should disappear. It will not disappear if you just pause from the lock screen and turn if off.
Otherwise its not there, and you just need to swipe up to get the notifications.
However, you'll always need to swipe up to see notifications though, and they'll take over the space used by the playback controls any way even if they are there. Notifications are no longer shown directly in the lock screen, and need to be revealed by swiping up regardless.
This has not worked for me: Going to Settings/Music/ and turning "Show Apple Music" to off does not solve the problem.
Thank you -- I will try this and let you know how it goes!
This is what my phone does, I've double clicked, closed tabls in google, safari, Pandora etc. I can't get to go away.
Update 11.2.5 did not work for me, and I turned the Music app off, etc. Nothing and I wan't this stupid player gone!
You said it. I’ve tried all of the suggestions. We need a real fix. And I don’t want to reboot my phone!!!
Didn’t work, your welcome
Holding down power for 5 secs, letting the phone turn off and then turning it back on is not difficult. Literally takes 60 secs.
Btw I meant lock screen, not home screen.
Sorry it didn't work for you. So far it's working just fine for me.
And I read through all the fixes. I was only trying to help others. Still working for me. I must be blessed.

Go to Settings>Music
Turn off "Show Apple Music"
That sounds great! I don't want to delete mine altogether until I finish getting my 11,000 songs into Google Play. ...
It comes back.
I connect to Bluetooth in my car and a Bose speaker daily and it hasn’t came back. I did all the suggestions in this thread over a week ago so thankfully it’s worked for me.
