iphone 8 poor/sensitive mic during call

I wish I had read this post before I bought my new Iphone 8 plus. I have owned it for 2 weeks and have had nothing but trouble since with the mic during phone calls. If I had known I would definitely not have wasted my money. I am happy to spread the word not to risk buying this phone. Such a shame I have had the Iphone 3,5,6 with no issues. We have 15 Apple products in our house so I am familiar with the product quality.

Great question. when you find out let me know. Having the same issue and have had for awhile now. Still nothing from Apple........They monitor this forum too and still nothing. Why? We want to stay with Apple but...what do we do if our phone cant even be a phone....I hate using my speaker when others are around. My sending pics via text after selecting from photo album has such a Huge delay in getting picture to select someone to text....So frustrating. Looking into the new Samsung Galaxy 9 when it comes out just in case. Apple we need your help in this matter. This is a Brand New iPhone 8 Plus.

I don’t know if they will exchange the phone at Apple store or Verizon- Apple was not happy about previous comments I made but I’m frustrated and confused as to how to fix this. I’ve done the phone reset and all suggestions. I have seen comments of others who exchanged phones and that didn’t work. Maybe it’s a defect and they are working on a plan to replace microphones? It would be nice to hear if apple knows and is working on a fix?

Exactly, Apple is reading this forum and fully aware of the issues. Not sure why they are Not addressing these issues. Maybe we are just such a small group having issues. Yea, they dont like our honest blunt comments. We need our phones fixed ASAP!! I use it for both my professions every day! Hate using the speaker phone. If they dont fix it and i still have issues texting pictures, I'm switching to Samsung Galaxy 9. Co-workers have the Galaxy 8's and absolutely love them. The iphone has simple functionality and is so user friendly, but.....I need a phone and one that is fast and works! Come on Apple, feel our pains and fix it. We do have a lot of Apple products at home and office and do really like them....When They Work!

Exactly KTM. I know exactly what you and everybody else is going through. If you read all my posts, you’ll see what I dealt with. People say it happens on the X.... I sold my 8 got the X and no mic issues. I’m not saying ditch your 8, just saying it’s unacceptable for not just an iPhone 8.... but any Apple products should definitely not have these issues especially for 4 months now. I had 5 8’s and only one was fine. The other 4 suc*ed. Good luck mentioning it on here because they only fix emojis and tweak bugs in camera. Smh.

Yes! I had also read the iphone X guys are having issues. some are having issues with the 6, 7, 8's and the X's. What a joke! $1,000.00 phones and i dont care about some of the frills they can do, i need it to function like a phone should. I know we all get this, hopefully Apple will read these and see, something needs to be done! Thanks for your input and advice. Whats funny is my wifes's Iphone 8 plus is totally fine but i have had 2 now and they both did the same things. I saw one guy had went and his replaced 5 times with new phones and all had the same issue. I sure dont want to stand in an Apple store for 2 hours to have the same problem... Time to switch i guess, Apple, you hear, we may have to switch! The Samsungs are awesome phones and a lot lighter than these 8 Plus's and I hate using Siri... Sure hate to switch but....

Is there anyone else experiencing the huge delay in sending pics from your photo album to someone via a text? Mine has a huge delay when buttons are pushed...Previous iphones had zero issues with this function

Yeah bro. I hear you. It definitely suc*s because nobody wants to sit at Apple for 3-5 swaps only to get the same experience. I’m sticking with this issue as iOS 11.x.x because this issue never existed until mid September. I feel the 8 was rushed and the X was rushed even faster. Don’t get me wrong, the X is insane and so is the 8 but it’s sickening that we pay crazy 💰💰💰and have to deal with this is

I’m on my second iPhone 8 in 4 weeks both have the poor sound quality for the recipient. Muffled woolly taking with your head inside a fish tank have all been given by people I’m calling, as well as fading in and out. The new replacement phone sent to me by Very is actually worse than the phone I returned. I’ve rang Apple countless times and done everything they suggested and still the same sound issues. I’m currently waiting for an engineer’s result of call logs downloaded from my phone. Yes the Apple staff are polite and say all the right things such taking ownership but this far it’s only lip service. I’m lucky that I still have a few days to return this phone for a refund which looks highly likely as Apple seem unable to resolve it. Currently looking at replacing the iPhone with a Samsung.

Yes big delays all over- sending pics, in several apps, going talk to task. The camera slow to respond, sending etc etc etc Of course the mic on the $1,049 256gb...... I just got off the phone now, half the convo was me repeating myself. My caller kept saying what happened? I can’t hear you. Sounds like your in a train, tunnel, bathroom, muffled.. No acknowledgement or promise that a fix is in the works. Sad.

We are still trying to figure out what we can do and should do on our Iphone 8 Plus'. Hope everyone saw the latest National News article, The New, remind you, New, Iphone X is having issues with delay in answering calls. Well, Apple, read this forum and we all have been talking about call issues for how long now, Months!. I still cant use my phone with out someone saying, what, i cant hear you or my camera is delayed and sending pics to a text is way, way delayed. So some how Apple has been notified, probably by some huge company that has 100's to 1,000's of the iphone X. So , cross your fingers, hopefully we all get some software update to fix these **** issues already! Otherwise i'm getting the Samsung 9S. Yep, just saw pics of it. Yea Samsung thinks outside the box. Talking with a collegue about his Samsung 8S , he loves it. Apple is all about Apps....Samsung is way better for functionality and better facial recognition. We'll see what Apple does for us.

I have the same problem with my iphone 8. Made a voice memo and played it back and it sounded fine. Problems appears to be when holding the phone to your ear; any movement, mike walking changes the voice volume the other end receives.

Yes, there are a few thousand of us with the same problem with no answers, when I traded in my new iPhone X the microphone problem followed me and many others to the new phone

It may be a software issue, combination of my apps or settings that followed me to the new phone like everyone else. Threatening to go to Sam’sung is not the answer.

I have also had this problem, my iPhone 8 has just come back from the apple authorised repair facility.

They inform me that they have performed extensive tests and found nothing wrong. If I find that the problem still exists (it does) then to reset the phone to its factory settings and set it up as a new phone without using a back up. I have not done this yet but plan to do it at the weekend just to see if there is something corrupt in my backup.

My back up has been used on various through the years and I can only assume that the repair facility believe it is corrupted in some way.

Is there anyone who is experiencing this microphone problem that has set up their phone from scratch? (Without using a backup saved in iCloud)

I see the problem that when you calling and the sound not well right? You were sent to the Apple warranties and then it comeback they said Meditate no anything else going wrong. So with my experiences that you should try to change your Wifi internet modem.(Maybe the modem out of date or any mistake) And make sure your data always backup in the icloud storages. Sometime If the icloud full you can be able delete them to free your storages coz everything you saved there it were recognize and remember. Dont worry.!! (SIS- intelligence)The icloud should not be too full with warning system annoying. Because These action status sometimes affectted to the data sound voice call or your Media sound also.
