Apple TV 4k, Netflix: Audio only, no Video. restored ATV to factory, reinstalled NF app, cable is compliant, AVR settings and TV settings ok as no issue in other apps. Worked fine until today. OS 11.1. everything has been reset, reinstalled, rebooted, and reconnected. Any ideas? NF works fine through the app on the TV as well as the app on the cable box.

I had the exact same problem with the Apple TV 4k (OS 11.1, most recent update)
TV: Hisense 55H9B2 4k curved tv
Cable: Apple-recommended Belkin Ultra HDMI cable
(plus about 6 other 18Gbps cables I bought from Monoprice for much less)
All YouTube 4k content played fine, and I could play 4k movies from iTunes with no problems. Netflix would allow me to browse the content, but when I played 4k videos I would hear sound and could see the UI elements but the video stream was a green screen. When I played regular 1080P content the screen was black, but I could hear sound and see UI.
The Apple TV 4k automatically chose 4k SDR, and would not switch to any other output resolutions. I called Netflix and Apple trying to troubleshoot, but neither could find a solution except to point out that it seems like an HDCP 2.2 issue and to try upgrading my cable. I tried 7 difference cables, including the recommended one from Belkin.
I finally found a post on Amazon for my TV which mentioned that my TV firmware needed an update. The TV's online firmware update feature returned nothing, but I knew mine was the oldest shipped for this TV. Thankfully, someone posted the most recent firmware file on Amazon. I updated via flash drive, and suddenly the Apple TV 4k asked to upgrade the display output to 4k 60Hz HDR. After I changed the output, Netflix started displaying all videos properly.
Check for a firmware update for your television.

I have a samsung 4K. The problem appears to be for all apps, other than iTunes. HBO, showtime, Amazon, Netflix. Etc.
I just ordered a new 4K hdmi cable, so hopefully that works
Always work for me after I re-start the Apple TV, I am currently trying out the latest ( tvOS beta (11.2.5) that came out yesterday - this is the 3rd revision of that 11.2.5 beta.
What would really help is if everyone contacts Netflix customer service and let them check as well. I have the same problem, a reboot fixes it every time.
Oh, by the way I have another AppleTV 4k with a Samsung 65" LED TV and I do not have this problem at all with that TV. Only happens with my Sony TV.
Did you restore your TV first before taking your Apple TV out of auto sleep mode?
You do understand that the Apple TV 4K can't simply be restored on iTunes by plugging to your computer right? There's no USB-C port. Restoring isn't as simple on this device.
Didn’t see where you turned off auto sleep yet!
You can also do a restart from the Apple TV without having to unplug. Turn off the auto sleep function of the Apple TV. This seems to work for me and others.

Does everyone with this issue own Sony TVs? Seems like the thing we all have in common is Sony. I’m really frustrated that I haven’t been able to get it working. Same issue hours after rebooting the ATV.
I have a Sony XBR 49X900E - I do not think that the problem is related to the Sony model as others reported the same problem with other brands. However, I cannot remember if the problem started before or after the Sony firmware update that came out in November.
I have the newest 4K Sony TV E series too and I also have this issue too. At first I though the service was down until all the other apps did the same thing. A quick reboot fixes it but it is still annoying.
Yes - same thing for me. - neither work until I reboot the Apple TV I just opened a ticket with Apple - someone called me and we tried a few things but nothing I had not tried before. So someone else from Apple will call me tomorrow morning to look into this problem....
I am experiencing the same frustrating issue. I have an AppleTV 4K connected directly to my Sony A1E Oled (Android TV) using the recommended Belkin cable. I think it started with the November Android update.
Just wondering - If this is an Android issue - why is this only impacting third-party apps (i.e. Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) and not movies from the iTunes Store?... You would think that all apps streaming videos would be impacted...
