How can I clear ram/cache thingy on iPhone X or can I?

It was done by holding down the power button until the swipe to power off prompt appears, and then pressing the home button.

Used it for plenty of things, can’t I do this on iPhone X now lol?

Anyone know how to do this on the iPhone X?

Thanks in advance

After giving up, since I can’t find anyone on the internet who knows the answer to : how to clear ram on iphone x (like on 7 or 6) ?, I finally found/figure out the answer.

The key is:

1) the “slide to power off” screen

2) and the home button

Steps:

1) go to the “slide to power off” screen by:

Settings app -> General -> scroll down and click “Shut Down”

2) then click and hold down the “Home” button.

Yes, I know. There is No PHYSICAL/mechanical home button on the iphone x. But it is still there.

So where is the “Home” button? Just in case you forgot, it is available through:

Settings app -> General -> Accessibility -> AssistiveTouch -> Enable AssistiveTouch -> Customize Top Level Menu... -> Make sure “Home” is set to one of the icons -> and there you have it.

I can finally clear the ram again just as I do before.

The reason for doing it, is a totally different topic.

I know this is an old post but I know what you're looking for. To clear all of the apps in the background.

How this is done on the X is on the home screen swipe up from the bottom but stop halfway while keeping your finger on the screen. All of the used apps will show. Now, unlike the iPhone 6, 7 once the apps show you can't just swipe them away. If you try to swipe the home screen will just show up again. Instead of swiping on the app to close it long press it. This will bring an X on the corner of the apps to close each one separately.

First click any app, Then click the bottom left corner of the app swipe it up to the top right-hand side, then you will see all your cash pick any of your cash screens hold your button hold your finger down until it clicks then you’ll see a small red sign with a minus sign in it and then click on each one of those there you have it all your cash is gone

You seem to know your stuff... though not at liberty to say exactly what this function does, besides generally help with testing. So... though some people seem to swear by the method (for example, to clear Audiobus app audio sessions), I might try it a few times to see if there are any tangible results, but won't waste my time with it, as there is no official documentation available AFAIK.

I sincerely doubt it’s an “old geek’s tale.” If you try it, you’ll notice that after you’ve done it the vast majority of open apps have to reload whatever content that had. Whereas when one simply switches from one after the other, that doesn’t happen (unless the app isn’t well designed for multitasking, or if an inordinately long time has passed that whatever test was being performed timed out). So, the above aside, clearly something had to have happened for apps to have to reload.
