My Apple Watch and my Bose wireless headphones won't connect.
iPhone X, iOS 11.1
yes - I tried to re-pair all my devices. My phone is not discovering the devices. Just cycles. I can see it discovering other devices (none of mine)....I have powered it off several times as well to restart. Is there a setting I need to click that I am unaware of? I didnt have this problem with any other phone.
I am not on,y having Bluetooth issues but car plugged into Acura usb constantly stops when pkaying music. Have to keep hitting play again. iPhone X has issue nothing else. And this is not Bluetooth or radio receiver issue. Sometimes it’s fine for awhile. Had to be a software issues. As this is random. Anyone else?
Odds are your bluetooth device was connected to your previous phone. Here is what I did to correct this problem.
On your old phone, go to it's settings and go to bluetooth and disconnect the device or forget the device.
Consult the owners manual of the device you're trying to connect, or look it up on the internet to get the instructions for that device to pair with bluetooth.
Follow the instructions on how to pair that specific device. Some want you to have your iPhone X turned on and searching for bluetooth devices, and some do not, so follow that manufacturers directions as if it is a brand new device that has not been paired yet.
This worked for me, and all is good in my iPhone X world now.
This happens 4 different Bluetooth earpieces and frequently my Apple watch disconnects. It is not still connected to my old phone since it was wiped clean and sent off to my cellphone carrier.
It is clearly an annoying bug with iPhone X devices that Apple needs to squash.
So you are telling me that I have this problem also? Thanks for the tip.
Apple is already working on iOS 11.2. What model earpieces are you talking about and are they currently paired to other devices?
This is not a universal issue that's for sure. Neither of our two iPX phones have any issues whatsoever pairing with Bluetooth devices. No one in my office with an iPX is having any issues. None of my friends who have iPX are having any issues. No offense, but 99% of Bluetooth issues are user caused. Most of the time an earpiece as you call them are paired to other devices, or not being paired to the manufacturer process as defined in the user manual, which ultimately squashes the pairing with a new phone.
No one is saying it is universal. As a stockholder, I’m thrilled to read that you and your friends aren’t having a problem.
However, it is not uncommon and not always an end-user problem. I'll continue working with Apple directly who, fortunately, is not dismissive to this issue.
The problems I’m having are “complex”. I’ve gone so far as to reset the phone and setup as new (not restore) and the problems persist.
By itself, I Can pair the iPhoneX with my car (Porsche Panamera with PCM 3.1). However, if I plug in the usb to the PCM several problems occur - periodic disconnects reconnects, sometimes playing pandora doesn’t work,....
If my phone was not plugged into usb I was able to also pair to Automatic. But now I can’t get it to pair at all - since the reset. Actually BT pairs but Automatic says the device has disconnected.
Btw, I’ve written BT drivers on iOS and Linux, and have been developing apps since iOS 2.0. It’s not user error.
No, my memory was very clear. I knew it was iPhoneOS 2.0 and that it didn't change to iOS until version 4. I would think a developer would also remember that. You also originally said that you wrote BT drivers for iOS 2.0 and Linux, it was only later that you changed to BT drivers under an JB version of iOS 4.x.
But you still have not stated what these BT drivers are.
And pedantics is very strong with you. Even the Wikipedia article referenced it as both iOS 2 and iPhone OS 2. You understand the point. Do we really need to argue this?
The BT drivers were to allow programmed scanning of BT devices in the immediate area. A precursor to BT beacons of sorts - but reversed. iOS didn’t allow for it at the time, so.... the project ended up moving to Android since jail breaking could not be relied on for commercial use.
I don't care what Wikipedia referred to it as, there was no such thing as iOS 2.0 and a developer would know this.
Why would a driver be used to scan for BT devices in the area, that is a function of the BT chipset and always has been. And that would be an app not a driver. The iPhones with BT were always capable of scanning for BT devices it is built into the standard. And that is not a precursor to beacons. Phones using android also could always scan for nearby devices, no additional software required. What is the name of the app in the Google Play Store?
I see you are an adherent of Monty Python’s skit - I came here for an argument. :—)
As to a driver - Apple didn’t expose that functionality to apps - someone that has actually developed code on iOS would know that. The app needed to know what BT devices were in proximity - the only way was through a custom driver.
It was a commercial service for coupon management in retail. It was never in either App Store. The service was called SavvyPenny by Green Virtual Solutions.
Not sure how this discussion relates to the actual problem at hand...
I'm having issues with my car's Bluetooth, a Mazda 6 (2012). The connection drops/disconnects every 30-40 seconds, and then it connects. After 30-40 seconds it disconnects 😟
I haven't had any problems before from iPhone 5s and forward.
Apple Support told me to do a settings reset. Let's see tomorrow how it goes...
I have this problem too. My iPhone X will connect but then drops out repeatedly. The bluetooth devices i'm using are a series 3 Apple Watch and a Landrover Discovery Sport. I've tried resetting my iPhone and watch with no success. My iPhone X is the only registered phone in my car.
I hope there is a fix soon. It is driving me crazy.
I'm also have issues with bluetooth on my Iphone X.
When I'm in my car my bluetooth automatically connects to my audio system and my Garmin DriveAssist GPS (two units) like my Iphone 5 did. So far so good.
But after a while bluetooth disconnects from my audio system and only connects again if I press Phone on the audio system.
In the beginning I didn't know if it was my audio system or my Iphone X but now I realised that my Iphone X also disconnects from my Garmin DriveAssist GPS!?
Same here! Porsche PCM 3.1, Software release 4.76. BT connection is interrupted every 50-60 seconds. Also, the USB connection is not worked ng for Data services such as online search or real time traffic vi aha application.
For 1500 Eir this is not acceptable.
