Same issue here- people report the audio to be very muffled and unclear. They’re unable to make out the words when I talk.
Interestingly when I put the call on speaker, the other person can hear me very clearly. Seems this might be an issue with the mouthpiece on these new phones?

I replaced the sim with a new one. No, didn't make a difference for me.
It seems to me that this problem applies only to iPhone X models A1901 with the Intel XMM 7480 modem.(only GSM model)

I use the phone without a case. I realized that the problem is related to the congestion cell tower.

Apple replace iPhones. This is a multi billion dollar company. That’s how they made their money. They only want what’s best for them. Money and that don’t include replacing faulty items!!

This did not work for my iPhone X. Callers continue to tell me my voice is muffled or they can't understand me. Even my spouse with his new iPhone X.
