Same issue here- people report the audio to be very muffled and unclear. They’re unable to make out the words when I talk.
Interestingly when I put the call on speaker, the other person can hear me very clearly. Seems this might be an issue with the mouthpiece on these new phones?
Where do you locate the model number?
I bought silver iPhone X (GSM model for ATT) for my son. It is interesting that there are no problem with sound quality. But my black iPhone has problems. The both iPhones have the same model A1901.
This is very interesting, I am waiting on my third phone arriving today and had to accept silver as there were no space grey left (my last were space grey). Maybe it's as well. I'll soon find out!

I fixed this problem by doing the following...
Settings -> General -> Accessibility ->Hearing Aid Compatibility "Toggled On".
Try this & good luck!
It should be the same as disabling the noise reduction function. Hearing Aid Compatibility "Toggled On"disables turns off the noise reduction function.
I have a silver version and have this problem. I don’t think it matters but fingers crossed the replacement will work for you.
It sounds as if some carriers may have issues.
I have an X and am on AT&T and my calls are completely clear.
Think I might do the same, Iv had mine checked but still can not hear me , but it’s not every time, just now and then hen

Uuugh I’m having the same issue!!! What a joke! If I’m moving no one can hear me, everyone says I’m muffled... waste of money! I want my old phone back...
