Ugh. Really bad. My plan to change carriers is looking useless.
So the issue is that the A1909 model has a modem in the ATT version of the phone that causes a significant signal drop on LTE. ATT only has this model. Verizon has the A1865 Model which is much better.
Apple will continue to Ignore this issue and give you the run around because there is no fix short of returning the phones and starting over. I have spoken with 3 Apple senior managers who have each sent me a new A1909 model, all with the same issues. They all took me through the 10 steps on their site including connecting me with ATT to check outages and low signal (in Chicago - Right!).
If you are stuck with an ATT phone the only way to boost signal is to go into settings and cellular and turn off LTE. You will notice signal strength immediately comes right back up to 4Bars. You will still have 4G just not LTE so will be a bit slower. If you can transfer to Verizon you will get the A1865 Model keep your number and the problem goes away.
Good Luck
It’s funny, I feel the same. I can’t wait to upgrade to the SE2 as well
The same here. Apple reset my phone and I am using WiFi calling and STILL having a problem. This is frustrating.
I got a replacement phone in hopes that it would work. It didn’t do anything with the change though
Indeed my I phone x has similar problems dropped calls in combination with indoor mobile range extenders .
Apple support has been worthless for months now.
Other phones don’t have the same problem.
Same problem here in Norway. My previous iPhone’s (from iphone 1) have worked just fine but my X model have a serious issue with cellular coverage.
So, the 7 is fine?
Thanks,
Jonathan
Yes the 7 is fine and so is the iphone 8 plus which my wife has.
Yes the iPhone 7 and 7+ does not have the reception problems affecting the X.
Yea iphone 6,6s,7, 7plus,8,8plus are all fine! I just checked them all same sim card.
This is the worst iPhone regarding network connectivity. Only two bars most of the time. The phone needs to be restarted several times a day. Never expected this from a $1,000 phone.
Yes I agree we pay great amount of money for a phone it’s not acceptable but for the mean time that fixes my issue thanks
Maybe a fix on next IOS update? 11.4? 12?
I completely agree !!!
The fact that apple doesn’t tell us the truth, bothers me the most. They should give us a credit for a new phone
Exactly!! Just admit and resolve with a straight answer. I’ve had enough resets and reinstalls allready!!
Iphone X weak signals
