I’m having the same problem with the flash on a new iPhone X. If I go outside, and it’s below 32°, and perhaps take the dog for a walk, etc., the flash doesn’t work. The flashlight works. It starts working again a few minutes after I bring it inside. This happens even if I’ve kept it in my pocket so it’s relatively warm.
I contacted Apple Support today again but nevertheless they told me that they don`t heard about. I gave them the hyperlink to this discussion but the reaction was "ok....I will check it later".
She told me also that I should visit with my 8 plus the Apple Store or request a repair of my phone.
From my point of view this feedback is a sign that the regular support don´t know how to handle with this problem,
I am not from technical service from Apple but I think that they don´t can solve this with an exchange of my 8 plus. Furthermore two times they checked my phone via the "analysis app". First time because I bought Apple care + for my phone. But the woman from Apple Support ignored that and told me that I have to visit the Apple Store or order a repair. Very strange and crazy from my point of view.
Its 36degrees outside at 10:10pm december 28th 2017 norman OK.
My sons 5s flashworks
My daughters SE flash works
My 6s flash works
My wifes 8plus does not work ... selfie mode flash does work... but not photos.
Apple don’t care even if you’ve shelled out for apple care. All they can tell me is that it looks like a software issue and that the engineers are looking at it. Said they’d contact me but heard sweet fa, never had so poor service from apple!
Me and my family were ice skating at night. We had three iPhone 8’s and one iPhone X. We couldn’t get any of our flashes to work outside. The temperature was around 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Also we are all running IOS 11.2.2. This is a real problem that needs to be addressed.
The answer is no. So far Apple says pretty much, too bad, not designed for outdoor pictures at night. So PLEASE call Apple and complain. They have told me no one is really complaining about this. They also say this forum is not an official complaint or tech support site.
Same here I’m in Vic and it’s 3 degree’s currently and my flash won’t work so apples theory of working order between 0-35 degree is false advertising and admission. Also focus is crap on the iPhone 8 Plus, my iPhone 6 camera was way better, talk about a step backwards iPhone!
This is my video from iPhone 8 flash problem is cold weather (6 Celsius).
Same problem here with flash not working on both a iPhone 8 (bought in the states) and an iPhone X (bought in Asia). The temperature is -1 Celsius and getting this problem.
Applecare does software troubleshooting.
The proper place to submit feedback is apple.com/feedback 👍
Hi Sebbl,
Very welcome.
Yep, that's the one/combo to force restart :)
That they didn’t know about. This not a official known problem...
Oh yes and we should reset the phone
What did Apple say? Did you contact them?
