I have had the X for three weeks now, just updated to 11.2 last night, but began having "ghost touch" issues with the screen early yesterday morning. I've had a case on since day one, and I have NOT dropped the phone. I do not live in cold weather, so it's not THAT bug. The main problem here is that when I hover my thumb or finger a few millimeters over the middle row of icons on the home screen, WITHOUT ACTUALLY touching it, the phone begins to go wild and open and close random apps, and scroll up and down by itself inside the app. It's as if a ghostly hand is trying to push every button as fast as possible. This happens several times per hour now. This screen issue seems to affect the middle row of icons on the home screen, as these are the apps that keep opening and closing by itself. I have a video of the issue happening as well, and it shows me trying to close the apps and the apps opening themselves again and switching to different home screens.
hi to all,my iphone x is behaving strangely, when i unlock the home screen to somehow all the application strarts popping up,thre is no control to close or shut them down similarly when i try to dial a number it just dont let me,i tried a solution on youtube and came to know that its not only me there are thousands other with no solution or cure .. is there any official statement by apple regarding this?please consider it if there is not, waiting for reply..... thanks
Got the new iPhone X at the beginning of February. Started ghost touching two weeks later. It was small at first, so phone was still useable. At the beginning of March I had my first Apple appointment and they ran diagnostics but didn't find anything. They recommended changing the screen protector. Didn't work. Had another appointment at the Sprint store and they gave me some papers and sent me to the Apple store to get my phone replaced. Went to the Apple store with papers in tow thinking they would just swap out the phone, but they wanted to run their own diagnostics again and wanted to make an appointment (this was 4/17). Made an appointment for the following week since I couldn't wait for a walk in appointment and since my phone was still useable. Went on vacation the following weekend (this past weekend), and my phone just completely deteriorated. Completely useless. I have to text from my Apple watch because the screen is constantly glitching and all I can do is answer phone calls. I don't open apps because it'll delete emails, create events in calendar, open Snapchat and open the snaps. The glitching is primarily at the top 1/4 - 1/2 of the screen. It won't even allow me to click those apps on the top two rows. Super annoyed because after 4-5 appointments with Apple I'm out $40 for a screen protector, been dealing with this for two months with a brand new phone, and was completely unable to take pictures on my vacation. I have my appointment this evening so we'll see what happens, but at this point I'm going to pretty much demand a replacement phone and a new screen protector.
This problem has made me crazy for 1 month. This is ridicoulous problem for 1000 $ costed device. To solve ghost touch I have cleaned my phone and adjusted all sensitivity settings but this did not help me. After call conversation with Apple Technical Support, they have adviced me to format my phone with İtunes. The key point is “Do not upload your backup when you format your phone.” However I need my backup for contacts, mails etc. So I have upload backup. The problem has not been solve yet. Then one night, I tried to solve this problem all nights for this month 😅, I have decided to delete all applications by manually. And then when I have deleted Whatsapp and uploaded again without backup, the problem was solved in 90%. I used 64 GB Iphone X and Ghost Touch problem stems from capacity fullness. I have occasionally Ghost Touch problem sometimes. But I do not know problem is about me or screen hardware. To be sure about solving this problem, I will delete all pictures and videos and inform you. My solution is effective and I hope it will solve your Ghost Touch also. Apple need to prepare more instructions about this issue because this is unacceptable error for users 😡.

I have an iPhone X after reading through the problem I’m having it seems close to if not exactly what they’re calling ghost touch Buy iPhone will open up apps Close them scrolls to different pages and apps makes it unusable at times I’ve restarted it many times does not change I don’t know what to do. I have AppleCare I haven’t even had the phone a year yet .
I’ve had my iPhone X for about 2 months and already had 1 screen replaced because it was doing this. I have another appointment scheduled because it’s doing the same thing less than a month after the first replacement.
Had a service appointment at Apple and they ran their “diagnostics” and everything was fine they said. They did reset and that lasted all of 25 minutes. Ugh! Today my phone made three calls and then the screen went crazy again and i couldnt get out of them. Im over this expensive piece of junk!
Hello,
Its been three weeks since i bought iphone x from USA. I have ghost touch issue that makes me doubt apple’s quality. I am in india now, and i dont know where to get it fixed. Its really bad that lot of people are facing this issue.
I've been experiencing the same thing with my iPhone X purchased in March. Since mid May it has had 'ghost' touch problems with the centre line of the screen being touched without my finger on or near it, opening apps, swiping left to right and sometimes the screen shakes crazily from left to right. It's been to the local 'Genius' Bar twice already and sent to the UK for repair. Both times it came back with a note saying it was repaired OR they had done diagnostics and couldn't see any problem. But they hadn't replaced the screen.
I have countless videos (which I have uploaded to Apple Support) to prove that it is still happening. I've rebooted, erased, restored, sent diagnostic logs to Apple, downloaded latest iOS update - all to no avail. I've asked for a replacement phone but they have refused. It's now FOUR WEEKS since I first reported the glitch and I've dealt with three senior support managers and 2 repair stores. I've just been asked to send it back to Apple for repairs for the THIRD TIME. Have lost all faith in Apple products and just want a new phone at this stage.
I am also facing this issue since I upgraded to iOS 11.4
Seems strange to me that so many of us are experiencing such an annoying firmware flaw yet Apple did not publish an update so far...
Aren’t we talking about Apple’s state of the art device?
I got my iPhone X about 4 months ago and it started for me about 2 weeks ago, it happens randomly. I’m not sure whether to go to ATT or the apple store, any suggestions would be great! I’ve read a few of these and some have said to do the hard reset and restore so I wasn’t sure if I should just do that?
I have Sprint but went to Apple. Mine was just random at first but then it got worse and worse to where it would make calls and I had to turn off Amazon one-click shopping! The first visit the did a hard reset which worked for only a few hours. Next visit they agreed to replace the front of my phone. Thankfully I was only a few months into my warranty so it was at no cost to me. It’s been five ever since.
My wife's iPhone X started having this issue after updating to 11.4.1. Her phone is completely unusable, opening random apps, pressing random things on the screen, scrolling about, and you can even "hover touch" it and type tons of gibberish...or just let it type for itself. The weirdest part is it doesn't happen all the time. It just randomly does it for hours, sometimes a reboot makes it go away, sometimes it doesn't.
Is Apple doing anything about this? I guess we'll have to schedule a genius bar appointment. The phone is not even 1 year old so it's still under warranty.
I'm sorry, but there was nothing in the link you posted that remotely sounds like the original problem. For those of us having the same problem as the OP, your link was really a waste of time, and I can't figure out at all why you posted it.

I’m sorry that you didn’t bother to read past a first attempt at quantifying the problem posted 8 months ago. If you had you would have learned that the solution is to make a Genius Bar appointment to get your phone with it’s hardware problem replaced. That was also on the first page of the thread.
That was certainly one solution. There was also the possibility that the case was interfering with the screen. At any rate, the post I responded to was the first one that came up on this thread and deserved to be called out for its complete irrelevance and laziness.
