Music App on lock screen

Please make this go away! My lock screen is considered PERSONAL DOMAIN ... The reason we were given the lock screen background was to personalize our phone, and I, for one, do NOT appreciate APPLE taking the perogative to make it part of their own. I DO NOT USE ITUNES, nor is my phone a music device. Please remove this. Thank you!

I've found several answers for this, but none of them are very pleasing. The one that seems to work for me involves connecting to a bluetooth device. Apparently, the new iOS system automatically assumes you're listening to music whenever you connect to a bluetooth device, whether you do listen or not. If you connect to a bluetooth headset....or any other bluetooth device....it assumes you're listening to music. It also assumes that if you just break the connection, like turn the device off, that you want to resume listening upon reconnecting. This is rarely the case. The only remedy I've found is to actually go into the bluetooth menu each and every time you want to disconnect your device, and turn the bluetooth off.....then back on. This is the ONLY way I have found to prevent having the music pop up on your lock screen the next time you unlock your phone. If you just turn your bluetooth device off, the phone interprets the lost signal as an 'interruption' and assumes you want to continue when you reconnect. It's ridiculous....and it needs to be changed. Like fast.

The reason the music was showing up was because you had it connected to a bluetooth device and then disconnected it. Resetting the phone will make it go away, but the reason it keeps happening is because the next time you unlock your phone you connect to a bluetooth device again. The problem is that the phone assumes any bluetooth connection is to listen to music. It also assumes that any interruption in the bluetooth connection is accidental, and that you want to continue listening upon reconnection. If you don't want the music feature to show up on your lock screen, the only way I have found to stop it is to go into your bluetooth menu, turn it off, then turn your bluetooth device off, then turn it back on again in the menu. You have to do this each and every time you want to disconnect from a bluetooth device. It's ridiculous...it's a pain in the butt....and it needs to be fixed. Fast.

April 2018 and this is still an unresolved issue for many people. My husband’s iPhone X is on the latest iOS and his lock screen has been doing the same thing with the Music notification.

My iPhone 7, also on the latest iOS, has never had this issue.

My husband has followed every suggestion to remove the Music notification from his lock screen, with the exception of erasing his iPhone.

The first troubleshooting steps always include turning off Notifications > Music > Show on Lockscreen. I believe this step doesn’t address a thing, because I have, and have always had, EVERY Music Notification turned ON, yet my iPhone lock screen has never had the Music notification.

I often leave iTunes open with a song paused on my phone, unlike my husband who only listens to Pandora. Even under these circumstances, my iPhone lock screen does NOT show Music.

This issue will only be resolved by the Apple engineers in a software update.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!! I am going to have to reopen my case, AGAIN, for a 3rd time. I've done all the steps provided by Apple and from what I have found online. Even if I DO get it to go away, it's only temporary and comes back after a couple of days. Now it has changed from the music app to my ibooks app. Regardless, I want to see my personal photo on my locked screen; not annoying apps! I will step into the app when it is time! I don't need Apple telling me what I need to do. Ugh!!! this is sooooooooooooooo annoying!! And no one at Apple seems to know how to fix this. They act like it's the first time they have heard of this issue. And then they have me go through BS steps, like 'resettting', etc. Been there, done that.. get this fixed Apple!!!!

I believe this is a bug with Bluetooth. After trying EVERY suggested troubleshooting step except erasing to factory condition, the issue persists on my husband’s iPhone X.

I’ve tried repeatedly to recreate the blank iTunes on the lock screen of my iPhone, without success. The ONLY difference between the two iPhones: my husband uses Bluetooth on his commute. (Pandora and Audible in a Mini Cooper) and I don’t use Bluetooth with my iPhone.

I agree. I tried all steps and none of them worked. Yes, a hard reset will get rid of it, but pops right back up when I connect to Bluetooth. I haven’t done the “reset all” step, but I don’t want to have to reset all the settings I’ve got how I want them. Funny thing is, is that this doesn’t happen with my iPad. I get the music app on the screen when I connect with Bluetooth, but when I stop using Bluetooth it goes away. Hopefully this will get fixed properly soon. Seems simple, when not connected to Bluetooth, don’t show music app.

I have the “Now Playing” controller on my screen and I have NOTHING PLAYING”! It will not go away no matter what I do. I am not an idiot, so please don't speak to me as one. I have closed everything on my iphone and yet this is on my lock screen. Now, any ideas on how to get rid of it? I have had iphones for many, many years and have never encountered this problem.

I know this is an old discussion, but this just started happening on my phone. I hope you and the others managed to resolve this by now, but if not, or for anyone encountering this for the first time, this is what worked for me - I went into notifications and turned them off for Apple Music and it went away! I did have to restart my phone after turning off the notification. Hope this helps!
