Ford Sync 3 USB connection broken with IOS 11.2.5

I to have the same issue, had the ford focus/iPhone for a few years and never had any issues, Soon as me & the wife updated to the new IOS we can no longer connect to ford sync. Apple need to rectify this asap.

I have noticed this before. I think it’s because via USB device needs to be indexed, and buy a Bluetooth it’s just relaying the information that’s on the device. At least that’s my assumption.

There are ways to back the iPhone down to 11.2.2. I won't suggest you do this, or tell you how, but Google is your friend.

I have the same exact set of problems and I might note that I have 2016 F150 running sync 3 running v2.3. I think Sync 2.3 has some bugs as well because the Album art stated to get totally messed up in 2.3. Everything was great in Sync 2.2. Now that Sync has OTA updates, I guess this means no one has to QA the product until the field tests it out....bummer.

I have exactly the same fault with the Sync3 fitted in my Ford Focus ST manufactured in 2017. Ford and or Apple need to resolve this issue! Hope it does not take as long as Apple usually take to resolve such issues.

The iPhone is no longer cool. I fail to see innovation. Rather we now have to seek updates to fix a crash. Heck, iOS got more frequent OS updates these days than Android. Every time something or other is broken. Every year there is a new launch with a slight big screen size and a huge increase in price. They call Face ID an innovation which android shared 3years back. AR: games and app developers have to use it intelligently. Every single app now who’s is based on virtual reality makes you hold your phone in air pointing at a empty space. That’s not smart: it’s makes you feel stupid. Why don’t use it wisely. This no longer seen as a luxury item and my personal take: Apple’s brand is on the decline. iPhone 7’s gonna be my last payment to apple.

ANOTHER RELATED BUG: Is anyone else having the issue, where when using carplay with apple music on ford sync 3 and iOS 11.2.5 the metadata (song title and album name) are not syncing over from CarPlay to your dashboard display or the sync 3 system when on the home screen of sync 3 with CarPlay still running in the background? Basically I can see the song info if I go into the now playing screen of CarPlay but nowhere else in the system, my dash, or sync 3.

I too have the same issue despite updating to 11.2.6 in my 2017 Fusion Hybrid. Alexa+Ford shows up for just a split second on Sync then goes away.

Also updated to 11.3 beta and still have the same problem. Did Sync master reset and reinstalled iOS app several times.

Any ideas?

There is one oddity that I just noticed with Apple Music via the USB source. Sync 3 Audio's list of my iPhone's Playlists is a much smaller list than what I actually have on the phone. And when I go to Sync 3's Audio via the Bluetooth source, I see every single Playlist correctly displayed and available.

Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Yep. Very frustrating. Apple just says Ford needs to fix it. SMH Ford didn't break it Apple did.
