When I ask homepod, “Hey Siri, what’s on my calendar for tomorrow,” it responds, “I can’t access your calendar here.” However, when I say the same thing to Siri on my iPhone, she correctly tells me what’s on my calendar. Is there something I must do?
Similarly, Siri works with my Things app works with my iPhone but Siri on my Homepod says should doesn’t know that app.
For whatever reason the Siri on HomePod can’t access your calendar. Hopefully this will change in future updates. It’s amazing it wasn’t a feature right out the gate.

I imagine one of the challenges is that the phone has a combination of calendars that can be added to iCal, either local calendars or from another service in addition to iCloud. HomePod would probably have access to the iCloud calendars only, hence providing a misleading view into someone's upcoming appointments. I'm not sure how they're going to solve that one.
Click on this link to the HomePod community. Near the top right click the grey button that reads Following so that it changes to Follow, or on an iPhone click the green text that says Following community so it changes to Follow community in blue. Use the same kind of links to stop following this thread too if you wish.
Alternatively open your user preferences page, turn off Content I'm following, then scroll down and hit Save. If that control is already off, turn it on, save, then turn it off again.

Exactly the same issue. Some of the restrictions on Home pod are a little crazy, very limited compared the Amazon echo dot it replaced!. Many basics missing with Apple these days. I have an iPad Pro, MacBook etc... the signature in my emails on my Mac, cannot be used on the iPad... IOS only allows basic text!!!! Come on Apple.... sort out the basic PLEASE
