How can you disconnect HomePod from being a home hub? I have issues with remote access using home hub devices that are wireless. I have a 4th gen AppleTV that is hard wired that I want to use as primary home hub. When I setup HomePod, it assigned itself as primary home hub. I want the hardwired AppleTV to be primary because the remote access works flawlessly.

At this point it doesn't appear to be possible to set alter the priority as to which device acts as the Home Hub. Use Feedback - HomePod - Apple to let Apple know you want that option.

Workaround for now might be to unplug the HomePod so the Apple TV takes over as the active Home Hub, then plug the HomePod back in. I did this yesterday and so far it hasn't swapped around again.

In the Home app click the arrow in the upper left corner and the home hub devices will either say "Connected" (Primary), "Disabled", or "Standby".
Same here... I have a hardwired Apple TV that worked perfectly. I setup the HomePod and now the remote performance is terrible. It’s takes forever for the home app to update, or it fails to update at all.
How can you tell which is your home hub?
