Error during installation of 64 bit itunes for windows HRESULT: 0x80073715. What to do?

Delete that installer, re-download a new copy from Apple's website, and attempt to install it again. It could be a corrupt installer file.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Right-click on the setup file and run the installer as administrator. It may also help to pre-install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. In some cases you may also need to disable any non-Microsoft anti-virus software while installing. A couple of users found they had to uninstall their AV, disabling wasn't sufficient.
