Error 1935 when attempting to install iTunes on Windows 10 64 bit

Hi,

I'm attempting to install iTunes on a new Windows 10 64-bit install. I've downloaded 12.7.4 from the official Apple website, and start the install process. I deselect the option to make iTunes the default player for my media files (I want to retain some sanity!! 😉 ).

I choose English United Kingdom as default language, and leave install directory to default.

The installation proceeds as far as Publishing Product Information, and then the following error message is displayed

#Product: Apple Application Support (32-bit) -- Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8007054F. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, component: {98CB24AD-52FB-DB5F-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}

The installation then rolls back and I get a final message saying: "The installation of Apple Application Support did not complete successfully".

Notes: Windows 10 is fully up to date.

Virus scanner is disabled during install

There is sufficient RAM, DISK, CPU to carry out the install

This is the only application that hasn't installed correctly.

I'm definitely running Windows 64 bit on a 64 bit Core i7 processor and running the iTunes 64-bit install.The error message refers to Win32. I don't know why, so help would be appreciated.

I haven't been able to find a resolution to this problem on this, or indeed any other, forum.

Assistance appreciated.

Windows 10, null

Thanks. The issue was more complex than those detailed in the response links. I was running a piece of custom written software which uses a modified dll from the C++ 2005 libraries. Reinstalled Windows, then installed itunes, and then modified the registry so the custom application looked for the dll in a different folder location!

Thanks#
