iBooks doesn't sync last read location for PDFs between iOS and MacOS

I just submitted this bug report to Apple:

Summary:

iBooks doesn't sync last read location for PDFs between iOS and MacOS.

Note #1: ePub files sync fine, between iBooks on iOS and iBooks on MacOS.

Note #2: Others report this problem, but also report that last read location for PDFs does, in fact, sync between multiple iOS devices: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7437018

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open a PDF via iBooks on iOS or MacOS.

2. Navigate to a new page of the PDF.

3. Save the PDF (if on MacOS).

4. Close iBooks.

5. Open the same PDF, via iBooks on the other device.

Expected Results:

PDF will open to the last read page.

Actual Results:

PDF doesn't open to the last read page.

Version/Build:

iOS: 11.2.5 (15D60)

MacOS: 10.13.3

I reposted the bug report here.

The best workaround I've found is to insert bookmarks. When on MacOS, the PDF must also be saved, in Preview, for the bookmark to be synced.

If anyone else has found a solution to this problem, I'd love to hear it.

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3), null

Apple closed my bug report, telling me that have never synced reading location on PDFs between macOS and iOS, and that it works as intended.

Therefore, I resubmitted the bug report as a suggestion, which I reposted here:

Summary:

Sync last read location for PDFs between iOS and MacOS

Details:

Could you please make iBooks sync last read location for PDFs between iOS and MacOS?

iBooks already syncs last read location for (a) PDFs between multiple iOS devices, and (b) ePubs between iOS and MacOS — so it seems reasonable for users to expect iBooks to sync last read location for PDFs between iOS and MacOS, as well.

Apple closed this case, as well, saying users should submit suggestions related to design at http://www.apple.com/feedback/, rather than via their bug reporter tool.

I did so, and suggest that you, dear reader, do the same, if you'd like to see this change implemented soon.
