email won't fetch 11.2.6 8+

Since my update to 11.2.6 2 days ago, I no longer get email notifications on the home screen when screen is sleeping or not. The email icon count does not change although I know there are new emails. I can only get new mail when I go to the app. Texts are OK.

I have checked, changed and changed again all the settings in notifications and in the push, fetch, how often to fetch settings. Reboot phone, reset network settings to no help. I may try restore but only if there is no other theory out there.

I see that it says now that Automatic fetch only works when on wifi and plugged in. Is this something new? I admit, I never looked or changed any of this stuff on my phone, or any previous phone, until today. My phone is not normally plugged in. I do know that emails were instant though, and not on a schedule, so I don't understand that part.

Verizon and AOL. (don't snicker, had this since email came about.)

A setting of Fetch on Automatic will only fetch mail when the device is connected to wi-fi and power. If you wish to get mail delivered at other times, then you need to set a different Fetch schedule time, such as 15 minutes or more. I'm not sure if this is a change, since I've never used Automatic in the past, but that is the behavior that I have seen in my tests. Others that I have talked to have changed their Fetch schedule and it works. I've always had my personal email set to Fetch every 15 minutes, and it works just fine with my iPhone X on iOS 11.3.

I usually never get a problem from an update that wasn't fixed in the next update, but those were minor and trivial. It seems they can't ever have one without hiccups though.

I've never experienced an issue with any update I've ever done, over my course of iPhone possessions from the first one on, and I currently have the iPhone X. The same for the other 4 phones in the family here. Most problems that people experience that they attribute to the iOS updates are individual phone issues that are fixed with a restore.

Same here. iPhone 7, IOS 11.2.6, won't fetch from Exchange since several days ago. iPad has not updated, but is not having same issue. I have two GoDaddy exchange accounts and only one is having issues. Went through deleting and readding account manually checking all settings and passwords. Need help from Apple support as not issue on exchange side of things. Outlook App on phone and installed Outlook on desktop have no issues. Definitely ios

ChrisJ4203......I have NEVER touched me email settings since owning my 8+ for over 5 months, and my emails came ALl DAY long. My phone didn’t have to be plugged in or turned on. However, since this latest update, 11.2.6, I never get my emails unless my phone is on or I open the app. This HAS to be a problem with the update because this only started after I updated my phone.

Chris,

When I checked the phone with the apple support, the fetch was on. Now I can't find where the Fetch button is. The issue is with the update. Now according to the phone and Apple support. The only way to get emails is to either use the AOL app (which doesn't allow for different sounds to play depending on the aol account)..or to open up my email via the apple app and manually refresh the screen 3 times to get mail and I still don't get the sounds.

According to apple support ...the only way to get the sounds is if my phone is plugged in....or on WIFI..which it's always on WIFI.

Why, why would apple make this change???? Who keeps their phone plugged in. According to Apple this is with AOL..not other mail accounts. However, my clients use AOL (and so do I)...so I can't ask them to change their accounts just because my phone won't do what I need it to.
