Missing Animated maps in iMovie

Hi

I have iMovie 10.1.8.

I am not able to see the animated maps in the backgrounds. Please see the snapshot below.

I tried deleting and reinstalling and it did not help.

Please advise.

Hmmm. Strange that the issue appears even with a new download. Did you try the delete preferences procedure with the new download? I incompletely described it before -- my apologies. The procedure is to open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys, and then delete preferences in the box that appears.

If you haven't already, update to High Sierra that is designed for iMovie 10.1.8.

You appear to have the scroll bar on the right margin all the way up, which is correct. However, try toggling it up and down and see if you can get the maps to appear. And swipe the screen up and down.

Also, try opening iMovie in a new library. Hold down just the Option key while opening iMovie and select a new library for iMovie to open in.

Your issue has been reported before. I don't know if any of the suggested solutions worked. I can't replicate the issue on my computer.

Hi Rich,

Yes. I tried delete preferences procedure with the new download. And also toggling croll bar on the right margin all the way up and down. Still the problem persists. My os is also updated to High Sierra that is designed for iMovie 10.1.8.

I was not using iMovie in a long time now. but I have been updating time to time.

I have been reading about the same problem online, I am not sure whether they got any solutions.

Is there a way to go to the previous versions ? or may be delete completely and reinstall like a new app ?

Did you try opening in a new library as well?

To do a re-download, put your iMovie app in the trash, but don't empty the trash. Then re-download iMovie from the app store by entering your apple ID and password and clicking on the Purchased tab. iMovie should be listed there for download. If for some reason you can't get it to download, move iMovie out of the trash and put it back in your Applications folder. If the re-download installs correctly then you can empty the trash.

Getting previous versions can be a little tricky, so try the above first.
