Mail, deleted spam and junk should not go into trash

This is a suggestion for Apple updates and improvements; I don't know how else to contact you..

Please will you re-programme 'mail' so that deleted spam and junk mail disappears altogether, never to be seen again, rather than into the Trash box. The trash gets incredibly full very quickly since I'm deleting hundreds of spam mails daily, it's a waste of space. And when I occasionally try to locate my own deleted emails it's tricky because Trash is so full of junk. Yes I can use 'search' but it would be so much neater and more convenient not to have the trash box full of space-consuming rubbish.

I would love you to update mail that way.

Thanks very much!

Love to help you, Louise, but you may be asking a touch too much.

Anything that goes into Spam or Junk is at the decision of the machine based on previous experience. But because it is known that machines are not infallible, it has to have a second chance to be transfered to the inbox. Your machine can make errors in matters like this ... would you not be upset if vital information were to be wrongly and permanently removed.

I suggest you review the rules options in Mail > Preferences > Rules and through that control what is classified as what.

Did you know, you can remove multiple mails in one go by highlighting the first of a series > scrolling down to however many pages > Ctrl/click on the last mail. They will all then show as highlighted and you just press delete ... and pouff, gone.

Hi Seventy one,

Thanks for your reply. I'm aware of everything you say, but am not suggesting that junk and spam mail be wiped away by the computer before I've even seen it. It should go into the junk and spam boxes as it presently does. I always check through all spam mail to see if anything has gone in there accidentally. But then when I myself delete it, I'm asking that it disappear completely and not go into my trash box.
