Contacts: Return address cut off on envelope
The left half of the return address on a number 10 envelope is cut off. I use an HP OfficeJet 6600 with an Apple MacBook Pro 13" (macOS 10.13 High Sierra). I encounter the problem when printing envelopes from Apple Pages and when printing an envelope from one of my contacts. My printer: HP OfficeJet 6600 e-all-in-one. I've looked for how to adjust the margin, with no luck. I feed the envelope per the instructions that display on the paper feed tray. The print preview looks just fine, but the finished product is defective.
I first took this problem to the support forum at Hewlett-Packard. Why not—they made the printer, y'know! An HP employee and I discussed the problem for two days. I followed instructions, but the problem persists. In print preview, the left margin in the dialog says it's set to 0.278 inches. The margin on the printed envelope, however, looks more like 0.625 (slightly more than one-half an inch). In fact, the dialog says both the top and left margins are 0.278, but the final result has both margins more than one-half inch. I know this printer can print all the way to the edge of the paper.
Of course, I could move the text box that holds the return address, but why should I have to do that? The Print Preview looks just as I'd expect, but I'm not getting the results I want. My helper at HP gave up and suggested I try the company's telephone support line. I hit a wall with that effort, so I thought perhaps someone in this forum might offer some suggestions. Please ... !
