Siri doesn't understand artist name.

Apple Music contains albums by the Lao artist, Aluna. I have tried to ask Siri to play that artist in every way I can think of and Siri always plays some random unrelated artist.

Siri can’t find songs or artists on Apple Music. “I can’t find XXX on Apple Music” We have an Apple One subscription with Apple Music. In the last week or so, I noticed that our Home Pod can no longer perform functions like “Hey Siri, play some Madonna” (or any other artist name or song name). The Home Pod responds “I didn’t find any music by Madonna on Apple Music”. After several hours with 4 different consultants, Apple Support is aware of the problem and their engineers are working on it.

Trying to identify songs with Siri in Ventura Trying to identify some songs using Siri. Before Ventura, I played the song I wished to identify with Audacity and Siri would listen and mostly provide an answer as to song and artist name. Now with Ventura when it listens it seems to cut off audio, and then says can not identify song. I've tried very simple songs as test with same result. It appears that when Siri response to "What song is this." the audio, I've played songs using Audacity or Music, is cut off and thus as it hears nothing, can not provide answer. Like said, using same procedure before Ventura this worked just fine. Any thoughts or suggestions?? Thanks in advance for your help.

How do I get Siri to play the album rather than just the title song? How do I get Siri to play the album rather than just the title song? I have already tried “Hey Siri, play album x” multiple times on multiple albums and it only plays the title song if it is the same title as the album.

I've discovered the same thing with at least one other artist -- Ahmad Jamal, jazz pianist. She just doesn't have a full data base of all the names of all the artists, which isn't all that surprising. So the idea of creating a playlist that DOES have a more easily recognized name is the best current solution.

The general workaround for this issue is to create a playlist that you can call on. You could also send Feedback - HomePod - Apple.
