Why can't browsers on a Chromebook work with icloud.com?

The default chromebook browser I'm sure is a browser that adheres to all browser standards. And the OS/hardware is Linux based. Yet icloud.com DOES NOT WORK. You can log in an click into an app, like photos, but clicking on any photo or control has no response. All you can do is hit the browser back button and then activate the signout dropdown control.

The browser IS IN DESKTOP MODE. Clicking fails to register when tapping a trackpad, pushing click corner on the trackpad, and even when using buttons on an installed mouse. No other website or web app has this issue.

There is no reason for ANY modern website not to work in this browser. This actually seems to be intentional in order to discourage use of a non-Apple product. But there are people like me who MUST USE non-Apple products at times to access cloud data!!! If I cant get a response and promise of a fix here I will contact technical media websites to see if they might investigate whether this is an intentional lack of functionality.

This is a fully updated Acer 15 Chromebook and runs Chrome browser version 64.0.3282.190. Several other browsers were installed and also DO NOT WORK.

null-OTHER, Other OS, icloud.com

You should be aware you are not threatening Apple here.

You are not likely to get either of these things.

Apple's published system requirements for accessing iCloud.com are these. I don't see Chromebook listed.

Wouldn't the ability to use Windows for accessing iCloud.com sort of disprove this?
