Since updating macOS to 10.13.4 my cursor disappears on my external monitor.
A temporary fix is to increase the cursor size in System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > Cursor Size.
I'm on a MacBook Pro 13-inch 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 port laptop.

had same bug, upgraded to 10.13.5 Problem solved!
Hi, Apple support contacted me recently regarding this issue. After many tests and reports, they confirmed that this is an OS issue and that they are aware of it and are working on it...we now have to wait for a High Sierra update then (they weren't able to give an ETA though).
macOS 10.13.5 seems to fix this issue.

Like Pierre, increasing the mouse size via the Accessibility window in system preferences is a temporary solution but as soon as you scale the mouse to low it will disappear again. I tried rotating my monitor display to "standard" and can confirm that allows you to view the mouse on the external monitor at the mouse's normal size. Again, changing back to 90 degrees rotation will make it disappear again. Mirroring displays works until you go into a finder window then it disappears again. Resetting SMC and PRAM doesn't it solve it either.
Until a solution is found I will have to live with a larger cursor size. It's the only work around that I know of.

Hi, It seems like its a system. A workaround that worked for me is to make the cursor larger by going into System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Display -> Cursor size
You might need different cursor size for different resolution
I guess we will have to wait for a new update until then...
I have had the same issue, it only occurs when my two external displays rotation are turned either 90 or 270 degrees and also disappers in certain editors (ATOM etc)
only fix ive found is to increase the cursor size to a rediculous size
- make the mouse pointer bigger : works, but not the best solution for me
- rotate my screen to standard rotation : works, but not the best solution for me
I notice this specifically. My external monitor is rotated 270º.
And I have the exact same specs.
Also, even when I enlarge the cursor, it disappears on some wysiwyg editors.
tested on a different HDMI screen (same resolution and refresh rate though) : exact same issue
I've been in contact with support and the word as of this morning is that they are aware of the issue and there will be a patch. Too early for any kind of ETA though.
Oh my god... yes making the cursor bigger helps. But it have to stay that way.
That is just stupid. I have this problem since the last update.
Apple support just suggest to turn the resoultion down and bam you now can see a small part of the cursor...
Same here with a MacBook Pro 2017 but the cursor only disappears on the third screen! Can't find a way to fix it. Bummer!
forgot to say that problem happened after having updated to 10.13.5 beta and that my 2 external screens are Apple Displays
