Cursor disappears from external monitor on 10.13.4 update

Do you have the bug number from when you reported it?

I have the exact same issue that started when I upgraded my 2017 13" macbook pro non-touch bar to 10.13.4.

I have this exact same issue. Using standard rotation for now, but I really need 90 degree rotation! Hopefully, this gets fixed soon.

I'm having the exact same issue since upgrading to 10.13.4 on a 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Most suggestions that I can find online do not help alleviate the issue:

- increasing cursor size - Nope

- reset PRAM - Nope

As I realized it only happens when I hook it up to my LG 5K monitor (as recommended and sold on apple.com), which is set to a higher scaled resolution, I tried setting the resolution to the default recommended resolution. Lo and behold, it fixes the problem!

I'm not entirely happy with the fix though as I am used to the higher resolution on the 5K monitor and now things look gigantic. I also could use a little more screen real estate.

Hope Apple could fix this issue soon.

I also would like to add that it happens to me rather consistently when I am coding on Sublime Text 3 and Atom. It does not happen on apps like Safari, Finder or Slack.

Edit: It seems that it generally occurs to rotated screens, I would like to add that mine is not rotated. I'm using the 5K monitor in landscape mode.

On Macbook pro 13-in 2017. Very annoying.

Accessibility display changing the cursor size works for me but agreed that this is not a good solution.

This isn't an all around fix. When the cursor changes to text select on external monitors, the cursor continues to demonstrate the bug by disappearing.

Switch mirror mode and change your rotation to standard, then change your rotation to 90 as before and uncheck the mirror option. It works for me.

Just ran the 10.13.5 update and the problem is now fixed 🙂
