Has anyone experienced random momentary monitor blackouts since upgrading to 10.13.4?

Since upgrading to 10.13.4 over the weekend I've been experiencing random momentary monitor blackouts, particularly when using an internet browser, though the event happens with browsers closed as well. I have run into the problem today with both Safari and Firefox in their most current versions. Has anyone else run into this and do we have any suggestions for solutions? Thank you.

Good morning Allen. Thank you for your message. Before I answer your questions I should say that I may have experienced the coincidence of sudden monitor failure with the event of upgrading to 10.13.4. After I sent my earlier message I went back through all the things that I had done with my Mac Pro (mid-2013 design / manufactured mid 2017) during the previous week, and then I switched out the previously functioning LG monitor for an ASUS monitor used with another system and the event of momentary blackouts has not occured in the days since my first post while using the ASUS monitor. So, my apologies to Apple for "crying wolf" and blaming the upgrade - though what an unlikely coincidence, eh? I have not taken the time to re-install the LG monitor to verify 100% the solution as I have had to continue working the system during tax season. Thank you again for your interest and response.

Best regards,

Peter Stevens

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities, FritzJahncke!

I noticed you haven't gotten an answer to your question just yet. If you could take a few moments to provide the following information, it may help others in the community get you to a solution:
  1. What is the Mac model you are using (for example, MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), which is information you can get from the Apple  menu > About this Mac)?
  2. Do you use an external display with your computer?
  3. If you do, is it the internal display, the external display, or both exhibiting the issue?
Have a great day!

I came to the forum to report the exact same issue. When using an application that records video (like Facebook Live, or BeLive TV) and the Chrome browser I am experiencing monitor blackouts with my iMac that last for about 15-45 seconds, or sometimes more. I did not experience this with 10.3.3.

Unfortunately I cannot revert to 10.3.3. I do have a backup, but I just realized that the backup software I was using does not create AFPS bootable backups.

In my case, I do have an external monitor connected, and both the iMac and the external monitor blank out.
