[Problem Solved]
Dear all!
If you are having the same problem as disscussed above, please find a professional iPhone repair store and ask them to check the audio IC, it’s a tiny little chip on the mother board.
I got my iPhone 7 Plus audio IC replaced today for ¥400 (around US$60), and the problem is solved! All phone functions back to normal, phone calls normal, voice memo working, etc.
Tips: If your phone is still under warranty, please search help from Apple Store. If not, get the audio IC checked, and most likely it will work for you as well.
Again, this is not a software problem, it’s the hardware issue, another new update won’t fix it!
Try soft reset your iPhone. If it’s a XS do the answer above
Wow......how tacky could you get Apple. 900 billion dollar, with 14 billion in quarterly earnings cant fix a portly designed component on a 700+ dollar phone. I seriously hope this comes back to bite you 100x more than me who is sitting here with a phone that can do everything except make calls. What a joke.
According to the reps at the genius bar I spoke with at the store in Austin, TX - they see 2 to 3 affected customers per day with this issue. Apparently the affected percentage isn't high enough of an impact for them to issue a "program" for replacements but they said I can check this page to see if it becomes a program. Exchange + Repair Extension Programs - Apple Support
I agree - everyone is saying the same thing about the terrible support and "don't care about the customer " attitude. HOWEVER there is a solution (not that apple will tell you they just want yo claim is "faulty" nd make you pay for a new replacement phone) - I upgraded to IOS12 on my phone and now its working fine - At last! Hope this works for everyone else - please say if it does.
I rang apple customer service today. Told them what happened they ran a diagnostic check on my phone over the internet and they said they will fix my phone for free. I just have to take it to a service centre.
Hay I said this before , but if you don’t won’t to spend the cash you can buy a pair of headphones with a mike that work on Bluetooth . I got some and now I can make calls and such
They should fix the issue for free but b/c they do not this is a good option.
I no longer purchase apple products, The amount of faults they have is beyond a joke (And at no fault of the customer), considering the price you have to pay for them, How much do you think apple make on repairs of this nature? These audio ic faults are simply bad design (and they know it and should be fixing them for free) If it's not this fault then its the baseband chip fault which gives you the no service issue, These are not cheap to fix, Just google iphone faults its unbelievable what you will find, Apple are a disgrace!!!. These faults should be fixed out of warranty as they clearly are a design flaw.
You have to go to the genius bar and they have to replace the phone.
Call customer service and demand to speak to a supervisor. They can approve a “one time” replacement. I finally got my issue resolved after sieajung to a supervisor.
I said the same reply before. It is audio IC solder issue. But Apple keep deleting my threads.
sending out the third party repair shop for $50 is my best choice than wasting two trips to apple store.
Try upgrading to IOS12 - it worked for my phone
yes i have same problem with 13.3. Apple customer care says need to do factory reset completely but i am not sure how far it helps.
It's not just that, so in addition, your microphone and proximity sensor won't work too, it's this not a hardware problem but software and it's got everything to do with that so call new update release.
