App Store (audio) Draining Battery

Hello,

Lately I've noticed App Store (audio) has drained 84% of my battery in the last 24 hours and it has only been open 2 minutes. Is this a bug in the new iOS? I noticed my battery was draining ridiculously fast even after I was asleep at night and there was no use of the cellphone.

I've attached 4 screenshots. Any assistance is appreciated! Thanks.User uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file

So yesterday I read over and over about this issues, and how it seemed to affect a majority of folks who used an Apple Watch, but what about those of us who dont use a watch? Or those of us who dont use bluetooth for anything? I was stumped about what to do.. So, I did what I read on reddit.. I simply toggled it on, left it sit a few mins, then toggled it off.. (this was yesterday after my first post here...) Plugged my phone it and actually kinda forgot about it.. Wen too work today, fiddled around as I always do on social media, watched some videos, etc etc. On my way home, 12 hours later, I was surprised to see I still had quite a bit of battery left.. then it hit me, I had forgotten about the "App audio drain" so I went and checked my battery stats... App Audio was no where to be found within the last 24 hours.. isn't that odd? so... ill keep an eye on it and see what happens over the next few days.

This actually just started happening to me today. My iPhone 8 runs iOS 11.4 and just today the app store has been accounting for up to 24% of my battery usage, far more than YouTube, which clocked in at 15%. I had used YouTube for 40 minutes today and 3 minutes background. App store was 2 minutes onscreen, no background activity. It just says "audio." Same thing is going on with Safari which comes in third place for most energy used at 12% at its height. I never use safari on my phone. I'm calling apple support tomorrow. I've read in these threads that the factory reset is not resolving the issue, so I'd rather not do that. Did the issue get fixed ever? Did it get fixed for you when 11.4 came out?

Hi haven't heard from Apple after sending them my diagnostics logs. On the other hand I haven' h any battery rain caused by appstore lately. Not even before updating to 11.4. For now appstore consume at most 1-2% for me.

Do contact them, it's positive for us user the more people that contact them about this issue. Hopefully the find this bug and fix it

I did contact them today. I had talked on the phone with apple support. This particular person said they hadn't seen anything like this so they'll probably make note of it and report it too. All in all, they gave me two options: factory reset and restore, or wait for the next iOS update, which I'm guessing is going to be 11.4.1. I think I'm going to wait on that for now and just troubleshoot in the meantime. See if anything works. I'd really rather not reset and set up as new. This is definitely a software bug and should be fixed in about one or two updates. So, it's the waiting game for me.

I’m having the exact same issue. Got 8 plus about 5 months ago and the battery was terrific. The new iOS 11.4 update has been draining my battery due to App Store audio by about 65-80% everyday! Definitely bug issue as I can say nothing else change in my phone except the update. Apple needs to fix this!!! $1000 for new phone and I could have kept my 6 with the same battery issues!! Apple your quality is slipping!

I had this problem too on my iPhone 7 Plus that Is not even a year old. I called apple support twice and the first time they said to turn off any battery draining stuff and I was left with 3 apps and my battery was still draining then they said to get the battery replaced which was ridiculous because it’s still a new phone. I spoke to a senior advisor and he told me to restore my phone using iTunes. So far it has worked and although the App Store was still there where the battery usage shows it decreased a lot to 1 percent when it used to be 40% and today the App Store stopped showing up.

To do this open up iTunes and go to summary and click restore.

Although it’s been working for me for about a week now I wouldn’t say this is permanent fix but this is better than having to wake up with my phone completely drained. I hope this works for others .
