Can't install High Sierra. It only says this:
"Installation requires downloading important content. That content can't be downloaded at this time. Try again later." I followed all the instructions.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
I successfully updated to High Sierra from El Capitan (10.11.6) after this error by:
- going to Finder
- searching for "Install macOS" on "This mac"
- deleting the only result
- going back to App Store
- downloading High Sierra again

Hi, read you can install a previous version. Power off. Start holding shift+alt+cmd+R when starting up. This will allow you to install a previous version. Which version unknown to me. // Good luck, Ulf
Have had a few calls with support on this issue. I was trying to upgrade from a fresh Internet Recovery install of Mountain Lion to High Sierra. After several reinstalls, the rep I spoke to suggested I try downloading El Capitan from my purchased list in the App Store. This solution worked for me, High Sierra is currently installing.
This is the link with the correct instructions to reinstall the original OS - FWIW, in order to install a previous or original version, you must erase the hard drive first while in internet recovery.

I am getting the same error, I have tried several other steps, I am connected to the internet. Seems like this is an apple issue.
For more information I am getting this error in the logs... NSSoftLinking - The Quartz Framework's library couldn't be loaded from /system/library/frameworks/quartz.framework/versions/a/quartz.
After speaking with 5 Senior Advisors, Dale from Apple says it appears to be an issue with High Sierra servers. No timeline on when it will be back up.
When you do Internet recovery the version the machine originally shipped with is what will install.
