I have tried everything my microphone is disabled for some reason. Even if I open the voice memo the record button is also disabled. When I make a call I cannot hear anything and the other person cannot hear me either. I have restarted and I have factory reset my settings too. Nothing seems to work. I think it’s something to do with the headphone jack, the headphones were working this morning but now even they are not working.

Check the charging port for lint or other debris and see this:

If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker

Hi there, no it was aparently a hardware fault is what i concluded. Aplle was obviously gonna charge me to fix it. So i simply traded in my phone and got a SAMSUNG S9 atlease i know its not going to break down on the 13th month of the purchase.
FYI open the voice memo app and see if the recording Button is disabled if not then it’s a software issue and if it’s disabled then it’s most likely a hardware fault I think.
Hi, I am having the same issues; did you update the iOS recently; I haven’t been able to figure out what is causing it either; wonder if it’s a glitch in the system? How do we alert Apple on this
Thanks for the info, i had already tried both these links you provided and also checked the headphone jack for lint and other things before i posted this issue, even tried to clean it with air pressure. It just doesnt work.
Ive kept the phone clean and never dropped it may be once or tiwce on carpet but never on hard floor.
