Gargeband sudden latency or slight delay with microphone

I am working on a project and am experiencing a delay with new tracks. I opened an old session added anew track for vocals and when I sing I have a slight delay before it is recorded. I have had this happen before but I don't remember how I fixed it.come to think of it I think it fixed itself. After doing many searches I think it may have to do with the master track. I did a quick mix with the master track to listen in the car but now I have that delay so I can't continue my work. This is very frustrating please help! I am using a FireWire duet and Maverick s
