split ruler vertically for split view in pages

I need to split ruler vertically for split view in pages. Can anyone help? does the option exist in Pages, like it does in Microsoft Office. it is easy to work on two different pages simultaneously that are not necessarily one after another (as they have just added a two page view recently which was very basic and added too late.)

I guess pages developers should understand that some basic functions are necessary (maybe for people who are shifting from windows to MacOS) or even otherwise. their surveys of people not using some basic functions is not working. just to differ from Microsoft you can make 'A' look like 'L', or say people are not using the letter A nowadays so we removed it. I have written numerous feedbacks but ... there isn't even enough space for all my feedbacks, there are just so many that I have now an entire Pages file for it. maybe there can be an option to attach a file for the feedback. it will be easier... or are you scared for virus ! lol.

Pages was, and is never intended to compete with Microsoft Word, emulate its features, or be a clone of it.

Pages is a free application, and right off the bat, that tells you Apple is not going to spend expensive resources enhancing it to have Word features, so they can reverse themselves, and start charging for it again.

If you want advanced features not found in Pages, then consider the free LibreOffice (a MS Office clone), Office 2016 for Mac, or any of the several non-Apple word processing solutions that are available.

Boot Camp is unrelated to this word processing selection decision.

it need not be based on Microsoft word for that. it is like saying you can't type in Pages, cause it is not based on Microsoft Word.

The thing is that the software has to be easy to use and give the maximum of the best of options possible and needed for a given task. and this one is a basic need when you need to cross check something within the same document. I hope Apple understands this soon before most people start using only boot camp on all of Mac range.

Thank Peter. I have that but Pages is great otherwise. it is so much more clean and quick. but some basic operations are missing in all of iWork which is disappointing. I was wondering that what would be the point of buying such an expensive MBP if I had to work on MS Word. I could have done that on a laptop with 1/5 the price or less. which is why even boot camp is rather foolish, or just a marketing strategy. if they were actually unwilling to copy anything from Microsoft for their pages, (if they can't develop any of their own), then boot camp is the biggest breach.

anyway, thanks for your kind help. I hope the iWork developers pay attention to this!
