WhatsApp notifications on my iphone 7 do not show the name of the sender any more.
If preview is turned on it shows both the name and the message, which I don’t want for privacy reasons. Any way to turn it back to the original design where only the name shows but not the message text itself ?
Contacted Whatsapp and this was their reply.
“You need to adjust settings on both WhatsApp and iPhone depending on what you'd like to be displayed in new message notifications.
To turn on previews that display both the contact name and message:

Note: In iPhone Settings, Show Previews and the ability to see just the contact name in previews are only available on iOS 11+.”

Same here with 10.3.3.
I think the best way is to split the show preview option (in WhatsApp settings) into two:
1. show the name;
2. show the message.

I’ve been having this problem since the morning. My settings are to not show the preview. However, now I don’t even see the contact sending me a message!

That's most strange and complicated way to set up the simpliest thing. It was ok when it was "Show Only Name" option. Feels like back to 90's

It did resolve the issue...however it has reverted back to the unresolved state after 24 hours of working correctly. What a joke
