Apple Carplay help- music crackling

I just got a new F150 that has Apple CarPlay. When I am plugged up and listening to music, everything sounds fine. But at some point during my listening, the music skips a second, and when it come back it is crackly sounding. As if an old record was playing and you can hear the cracks in the background. If I unplug my phone, my radio switches over to satellite radio and it sounds just fine. When I plug my phone back in it sounds just fine, until at some point when the music skips and the crackling come see back. This does not happen when using Bluetooth in the truck. I really enjoy using CarPlay, but I can’t deal with the crackling. Worst comes to worst I can use Bluetooth, but i’d really like to be able to use every feature of a truck I just paid $70k for. Very frustrating. Has anybody had this problem and have any tips? I am on the current iOS(11.4). I have tried different cables. Maybe Apple needs to send out a radio update, or another phone update.

Guys, I have the same problem as you described. The only quick fix I have found is to press the Siri (speak button on your steering wheel equivalent) and press again to cancel. When Siri is brought up and away, it will stop the crackling. This is the fastest way I have found without unplugging the phone.

I have the exact same issue on my 2016 Mustang GT. I though this was a Ford problem but looks like it's happening to everyone so it has to be an apple problem

I've noticed this happens everyone I start driving the car. If i start stationary and play music via carplay it works fine

My workaround is to pause music, switch to maps, switch back to music, press play. This has solved the crackling sound most of the times. But you still need to do it every time you drive. Very annoying indeed and i hope this has been addressed in iOS 12
