Modify HIGHLIGHT colors in PREVIEW for PDF annotation.

Has anyone found a solution to what seems to be a long-standing (years) issue with the PREVIEW (10.0, with MacOS 10.13.4) program's limited and very inadequate set of prescribed colors for HIGHLIGHTing text in PDF documents? The options are horrible, limited and seemingly not modifiable (?). Any solutions to this dilemma?

I sent in a note to Apple, per chance that they might actually read them:

"One of the main functions of Preview is to annotate PDFs and the ability to use colored HIGHLIGHTing is a very important feature. I and many others are frustrated with the Preview program's

[1] POOR SELECTION of COLOR options (ALL ARE TOO dark !!!!!)

[2] the limited number of selections available

[3] THE INABILITY OF THE USER TO CHOOSE THE COLORS.

Not to be mean, but this design feature of the Preview program was amazingly inept.

Macs, MacOS and its users deserve much better!"
