iMac System, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4) 2.7GHz, Intel Core IS

I am currently experiencing problems accessing web sites and nothing is consistent. As an example, just tried to open Home Depot site and a drop down box appears from Safari which states that Safari can't recognize certificate. There is a choice to (1) view Certificate (2) Cancel (3) Continue. Even if I view the Certificate, how am I to know it is a protected Site.

I had the same problem with the LLBean site and their technical staff told me to download another Browser and see if I have the same problem. What other Browser would the Community suggest, if this is an option?

I've tried no steps to correct the problem except to speak with the technical staff at 'Bean.'

Thank you to all who can help.

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

If your Mac isn't compatible with High Sierra, you can try El Capitan.

El Capitan

Check to make sure your applications are compatible.

El Capitan 10.11 Compatibility information

Also check to make sure there is a compatible driver for your printer.

Do a backup before installing, preferable 2 backups on 2 different drives.

See the following from the Check Compatibility section of the link I supplied above:

How to download macOS High Sierra - Apple Support

High Sierra requires any of the following Mac models and versions of macOS.* It also requires at least 2GB of memory and 14.3GB of storage space to perform the upgrade. (Upon completion of the upgrade, macOS High Sierra requires about 1.5GB more storage space than macOS Sierra 10.12.6.) To find your model, memory, storage, and version of macOS, choose About This Mac from the Apple () menu.
