iTunes 12.8 work w/original Airplay v1 devices?

I'm about to upgrade to iTunes 12.8 on my iMac BUT wonder if my older Airplay v1 devices will still be able to receive streaming audio. I have an older Airport express hooked up to an outdoor stereo, Apple TV 3 for receiving/outputting digital audio on my main entertainment system and an JBL Airplay speaker. I'm concerned that if I upgrade I'll lose streaming ability to all these devices. Thanks for any advice.

Sadly airplay 2.0 is not compatible with all existing devices. I run speakers through my Pioneer VSX-1021 receiver throughout the house and outside. The new iTunes 12.8 is not compatible and will not connect from my MacBook Pro running os Sierra 10.12.6. This has become a big bummer. I called Pioneer and they have no plans to update their firmware for the receiver to support ITunes 12.8. I wish I didn’t update my apple software. Apple should fix this in the next iTunes update. Retaining backwards compatibility is important and this gaff is probably affecting many iTunes users with pretty current audio hardware. My receiver is only 4 years old. I don’t want to have to pay $300 for a new receiver/amp to drive all my speakers.
