'Install or remove windows 7 or later version' option greyed out

I have a macOS 10.13.6, and I'm trying to use bootcamp to install Windows 10, and the install or remove windows 7 or later version option is greyed out. Bootcamp Assistant version is 6.1.0.

I made some mistakes the first time trying to install windows 10, and accidentally erased my MacBook Air, and restored it 3 months ago. It was around 2015 when I first got my laptop.

Can anyone help me on this?

If you are happy with a VM and it's performance, you may want to pursue that path, instead of fighting Intel GPU issues.

You can separately install the Wireless drivers, instead of running setup.exe.

Is there a way to remove the current setup by BCA or do I have to reformat my external drive and install W10 again?

diskutil list

then we can figure out if BCA can remove Windows or not.

BCA will not manipulate your Windows installation on the external disk in any way.

Do you want to remove Windows? If yes, just erase the external disk in Disk Utility.

Ok. I'll remove then reinstall windows on the external drive, then separately install the wireless drivers, right?

You can boot into the macOS side and confirm the wifi drivers, but they should be Broadcom.

Yes! Thank you! I installed the Broadcom wireless drivers, and I now have wifi! Thanks for helping me all this way, and now windows 10 is working perfectly on my MacBook Air!
