How do I stop CNN, HuffPost, Apple news, etc. from putting notifications on my iphone 7. I only want to receive text message alerts, cale notifications, and personal notifications. NO MORE NEWS!

Go to Settings/Notifications, then tap on each of the apps that you don't want to get notifications from and turn off Allow Notifications.
