The "Apple USB Drive" is not supported on thisMac.
Last week I had a problem on my 2010 MacBook Pro with malware. I resolved that problem 2 days ago. During the process I attempted to transfer some video files onto my DVD optical drive but I was unsuccessful. So I purchased a new 2018 MacBook Pro which I am in the process of transferring files to. No...I did not buy a new Mac just because of that. I just needed a new computer.
Nevertheless, I also purchased a new Apple USB Supper Drive. I insert a new DVD and it does not go fully in. 3/4 of the way in I feel the disk getting pushed out as if a spring was in the way. The same thing happens with my internal optical drive. I attempted several disks and one disk with some previously recorded video did play the video on my internal drive. If I insert a new disk I get "USB Accessory Not Supported. The 'Apple USB Drive' is not supported on this Mac."
I have not tried to connect my new Apple USB Supper Drive onto my new Mac since it is in the process of transferring files from my Airport Time Capsule.
So my question is, how do I fix the "Apple USB Drive is not supported"?
BTW, my old MacBook Pro actually has a newer SSD and new battery.
