Problem with MPC Live and Logic Pro X

MPC Live Pads are not Recording or Writing midi notes when used as a Plug-In with Logic X.

MPC Software Version 2.2.1
MPC Firmware 2.2.2.1 (v1.11)
Logic Pro X Version 10.4.1

My MPC Live Pads are not Recording / Writing MIDI notes in the MPC 2.0 Software sequencer when being used as a Plug-In with Logic Pro X. I am able to write the MIDI notes in the MPC sequencer using the Pencil, but not with the Drum Pads itself.

When the pads are pressed on the MPC Live, both the Key Bed and Drum Pad are activated in MPC 2.0 software. But when I hit record and start tapping on the drum pads, the drum pad notes don't record in the sequencer.

Keep in mind, when the MPC Live is in controller mode and NOT being used as a AU Plugin with Logic Pro X, I'm able to record drum pad notes in the MPC Software sequencer with no problems at all.

All settings in Logic X and the MPC Live are all set to Default.
I'm assuming its a Logic Pro X problem and not a MPC Problem?

However, I don't know where to look under the hood, so what menu settings needs to be activated to get the drum pads recording notes?

Logic Pro X, iOS 11.4.1

Thanks for that, but I have finally figured it out. Instead of writing with a pencil in the MPC Sequencer, Its actually finally usable.

There was a setting in the MPC 2.0 Software that was preventing pad notes from being recorded to the MPC Sequencer.

The Preference Setting was set as Record/Overdub to Host Daw instead of Record/Overdub to MPC Plugin.

Here's a Future Reference to anyone who ever encounters this problem.

MPC Software Menu: Edit --> Preferences --> Hardware --> Record/Overdub (set to MPC Plugin)

I don't use MPC Software but my guess would be that if you use it as a plugin, it is enslaved to Logic's sequencer (just like a hardware MPC would be). Can you record notes into Logic (on the software instrument track where MPC Software plugin is loaded) by tapping on the pads? If so, that's how MPC Software is supposed to work as a plugin. There's nothing wrong with either Logic or MPC Software.

Hi, No it can not record/write notes into logic with mpc pads.

You should be able to do this. Especially given that the MPC Software reacts to MIDI input from MPC Live while being loaded as a plugin. This means that MIDI signal from MPC Live reaches Logic too, as it's the host application. There's an easy way to check this. When you tap a pad on MPC Live Logic's LCD display should display a MIDI note being received.

If you tap and see a note, then you should be able to record MIDI parts in Logic using MPC Live as a controller.

I can record the loaded sounds from the mpc software using my keyboard controller in logic but not with the mpc lives drum pads. Which is kind of weird because its an $100 iRig Pro.

Anyway, any idea on how to slave the mpc live? To anyone who owns a mpc Live/Touch/X???
