Keyboard and touchpad after restart from windows to macOS not working

Hi.

Just got my mac pro 2018 and one of the first things I did was installing windows 10 on this machine for work purposes. Everything was working fine until I tried to restart from windows to macOS. After the restart I am stuck at the login screen with non working keyboard and touchpad. It only occurs when I switch it from windows to macOS. After I force shut down my laptop and switch it on again, then everything works perfectly again.

Was wondering if you guys have any clue what could cause this problem. Or maybe I just miss something.

It seems that disabling FileVault fixes the problem. Is it possible to get explanation why is it acting so?

You have the 2018 MBP which has the new T2 chipset. As a test, enable FileVault, but lower the security setting mentioned in About Secure Boot - Apple Support and test.

See Mac computers that have the Apple T2 chip - Apple Support . The drivers that control the peripherals (keyboard and mouse) are no being loaded, till you log in successfully. Do you have any pending software updates on your Mac?

Actually it is the built-in keyboard and touchpad that would not work when switching from Boot Camp OS into macOS. Ironically the solution is to attach an external keyboard in order to type in the password and get to the main desk, and the internal keyboard and touchpad would be responsive again.

The process of typing your password on a FV2 volume also unlocks the volume. Attaching a BT keyboard, not already paired, does not work. A USB keyboard (an external device) causes the USB bridge to re-scan for new devices and rebuild the device database, which wakes up the the internal devices. The bug is in the T2 controller firmware. It does not rebuild the device database (IORegistry) correctly.

Reboot macOS from macOS and the devices work properly.
