Mail notification WatchOS 5

I have had the same issue. Getting super ticked. Spent hours on the phone with apple tech and got no where. They said they would call me back. All other haptic works and messaging etc. Just not for mail. ***** big time. If anyone finds anything please post

I have this issue also on series 4 and XS Max... drove me insane as I couldn’t figure out what was going on! Is it new that the iPhone doesn’t vibrate with email notification? Or is that just ios 12?

Also curious that when you get a notification on your watch, you can usually swipe down to dismiss them but with mail you can’t dismiss them without tapping on them. Is this for others too?

Chatted with Support, and they are really Amateur´s:

First one checked internally and said, yes some people adressed this.

He advised me to do some changes. Then connection interrupted.

Second Support Staff discussed 20 Minutes and wasted my time and didn´t believe, that this is a software issue.

She forwarded me to her Boss and i explained all again.

He checked internally and told me, that is a issues and already adressed to their technical department.

Hope this is correct.

I have had the same issue since the iOS 12 and watchOS 5 updates and it has been driving me crazy. I’ve been dealing with Apple support and engineers and just running in circles!!! I followed the advice of someone on this thread and it somewhat worked. On my phone settings, under sounds and haptics for new mail, I had to change it to an actual vibration (couldn’t use none, although that’s what I prefer) then on Apple Watch app had to go to notifications, then mail and choose mirror versus custom. Once I did that, I got haptic mail notifications on my watch! Definitely a bug, but happy for a temporary work around to get haptic mail notifications on my watch.

It has to be a bug in Watch OS 5. Today I spoke with something that has iOS 12 on their iPhone X, but was still using a version of watch OS 4 on their watch. They still get alerts when they receive email.

Yes, red indicator dot on watch is working, but it was working before. Email notifications would show up in watch Notification Center but I wouldn’t get haptic tap of the notification before this work around.

A bug for sure. I tried all suggestions here and still no haptic feedback. Then suddenly today my AW3 just froze with screen off. I had to force restart it (press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo). After this my notifications started coming through fine.

Are you getting them if you have Mail Notifications set to Custom, or is it to Mirror your iPhone? I have two accounts on my iPhone, and only want notifications for one account. When I set it to Custom for just the one account, I don't get any notifications, so I had to set it to Mirror my iPhone. While I'm not happy about getting the other email, at least it is no longer disabling the notifications for my work Exchange account

I am having the same issue. The workarounds just work to a degree. I get the email notification but it just opens up in the screen. There is no red dot notification at the top of the watch for emails.

It is undoubtedly a big and apple is silent about it.

If you read this, you will see that Apple Engineers have said there is a problem and are working on it. However, I've not even seen questions about LTE issues, and are you referring to LTE on the Watch, or iPhone? The same with WLAN.

I called Apple support and they told me first, there is no issue with notification between phone and watch.

Same now with phone LTE and WiFi issues which comes up in press.

My messsage was only a side comment to this thread.

When you make calls to Customer Service/Support, not everyone there knows when Engineering is involved in issues. I don't doubt what you are saying, but I've not read anything about LTE issues. I'm interested if there is something, so some identifying information would help me find it, as far as what the issue seems to be and what phone, etc.

Same problem as everyone else, and I’ve reported it on the support link someone posted. AW4, iOS 12 on an iPhone 7. I tried the workaround people mentioned, setting up a vibration in mail on my phone, and using mirror in the watch app. Nada. I rebooted both. Nada.

It’s not the end of the world, I get all the other notifications, and I am more interested in text and Messenger notifications right away, but it’s still an annoyance, and pretty inexcusable that Apple made such a goof. Awaiting iOS 12.0.1 and 12.0.2 and ….

I think the problem (bug) is related to the new feature "Quiet notifications".

In "Notification center" if i choose one notification, swipe left, and tap in Manage.

I choose "Disabled Quiet notifications"

And I configure also in app Watch "Turn on" in Notifications - Mail - Personalize (NO mirror), so in Watch works ok sound and haptic, but don´t appear "red point" in Watch.

I have the opposite problem. I get notifications on my watch, bit when I go to mail on the watch it says no account. Setup a new account on your iPhone. I have a series 2 and iPhone 6. Don’t want to wipe the watch to fix such a stupid problem. Is apple aware of these issues?
