Is this still the policy, that once you've tried two-factor authentication you're stuck with that forever? I need to know before my next hardware purchase as that's an absolute deal-breaker.

You have 14 days to change your mind. Use the link in the "Apple Recommended" post for more information.

You are not forced to enable Two Factor authentication. But if you do you have 14 days to turn it off before it becomes permanent. If you buy new hardware just don't turn it on.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE. I HATE 2 factor authentication. I travel overseas and DO NOT take a phone, ONLY MY IPAD so TFA WILL NOT WORK FOR EITHER. GLAD you found your phone.

If i do NOT travel overseas with a phone then HOW would two factor work for me for my ipad? WE SHOUKD NOT BE FORCED to use two factor authentication

It would be possible to manage 2FA without an iPhone or SMS capable device, but not ideal for sure.

i don’t have any issues with 2FA.. So I’ve been hanging around to see if I could learn more. This was really helpful. It explains quite a bit.
