I recently updated my iPad(6th gen,2018 model) from iOS 11.4 to iOS 12. I noticed that after the update, the magnetic cover doesn’t wake my iPad anymore, while it worked perfectly on iOS 11.4. Any fix for this issue? Thanks.

If you see the ‘I have this question too’ option right below the question, it seems that, as of now, 15 people are having the same question. The thing is that they are probably silent readers of this discussion and aren’t reporting the issues persisting in their iPad, openly.
Which model of iPad do you have? And are you running iOS 12?
Secondly, are having the same issue that I am facing, despite the ‘Lock/Unlock‘ toggle visible in ‘Display and Brightness‘ section, and using official Apple cover?
I had gone through this article earlier, and you can easily check the polarity of your magnetic cover. If it sticks onto the screen when itks near the screen, and doesn’t come off even if you hold the iPad with its screen facing towards the ground, then the magnets are working. Otherwise the magnets are either faulty or the magnets have been placed wrong in the cover. In my case the magnets are alright and are functioning properly, and can turn on the screen of the iPad if it’s about to turn of (by closing the cover and opening the cover instantly). But it isn’t waking my iPad after updating to iOS 12.
There is no such option in iOS 12. This option should probably have been under ”Display” menu, but it isn’t there.
My Smart Cover works on my iPad Pro with iOS 12. The setting is under Display & Brightness, it should read Lock/Unlock. For the Smart cover to work, it should be turned on.

By the way, to clear any ambiguity, I have a 6th gen iPad(2018) model with a simple magnetic cover, which has magnets on the edges of the cover, which turns on the screen when the cover is lifted up.
The option of Lock/Unlock isn’t there on iOS 12

They haven‘t removed it. I am running iOS 12.
Could you please explain step by step on how to restore iPad? The article is not very much clear to me. My iPad isn’t disabled and is in working condition, so please explain accordingly.
The article isn’t very much clear to me. I just wanted to have a second opinion for reference. I have watched many videos on YouTube and they all are regarding when iPad is disabled, but mine isn’t.
