iPhone XS Charging issue

Just got my brand new iPhone XS today and put it on my Belkin dual iPhone & iWatch charging stand (not the wireless one) and it repeatedly chimes the charging chime and does not stop until I unplug it from the charger? Is anyone else having this issue?

Husband and I both have these and I was trying to figure out how mine is still working and his doesn’t with our xs maxes. We figured out the solution tonight. I have a popsocket on mine and he didn’t. So the phone has to be tilted slightly forward and will stay charging. My popsocket was in just the right spot to space the phone away from the back bracket and cause the correct angle. He made his own version by adding a bunch of tape and a pen cap around the bracket to build up a spacer. Still moody and you have to be careful not to bump the phones once charging but they’ll charge. Hope this helps.

As a matter of interest I pulled my dock apart to see what's so special about it to justify the cost of $150 AUD. Mostly empty space in the bottom with a small lightning connector riser mechanism and a tiny circuit board splitting up the watch charger from the lightning. Must be something dodgy they included on the circuit board. I couldn't identify what part on the board would cause it to not work, there doesn't appear to be anything too fancy on it, a copper coil, some resistors and simple power regulation components.

The staff at Apple Store in Galleria Houston did not seem think it unusually that Belkin Products were not supported even though they were sold in the store. I am an unhappy camper. Having just spend over $3K for two new Xs Maxes and cannot use my pair of Belkin valet chargers (less than one year old) for our watches and new iPhones. The solution from store staff was to purchase new Belkin units. Yeah right.

Having looked in more detail, it would appear that it is possible for a manufacturer to self certify their product against the MFI program. Part of the process requires then to confirm they will adhere to the technical specifications of the MFI standard. So does this mean that Belkin self certified the Valet Charger but did NOT adhere to the technical requirements?
