iphone xs Max car coupling issue with both Bluetooth and USB

I cannot play music from my new iphone xs max in my renault kadjar neither through Bluetooth or USB. Perfectly worked with my iPhone 7 also on iOS 12 or Samsung S7. Anybody with similar issues? Network reset or re pairing neither did yield any result...

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for your feedback.

It seems that the problem was indeed on Apple's side. I had to reinstall the Apple Music App and download 1-2 songs. After that the new iPhone was again recognized by the stereo as a media player…

I think that I am not the only person with this problem… Hope that there will be a patch soon.

Cheers,

Chris

Hey Swiss86,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand you're having trouble connecting your new iPhone to your car, and I wanted to reach out about that. When it comes to issues with car stereo connections, there isn't a lot that can be done on the Apple side of things to resolve them. The network reset and re-pairing you did earlier were great places to start, and definitely steps I'd recommend, but you should also have a look at this article and run through any other steps it mentions: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod doesn't connect to or work in your car - Apple Support

Another thing I've noticed is that new software and devices tend to have trouble with those car stereo connections simply because the manufacturer of the car or the specific stereo might not have had a chance to release an update that fully supports compatibility with the newer device/software, so it would also be a good idea to reach out them and see what they recommend.

I hope this helps you get to the bottom of things.

Cheers!
