Printer issues after installing Mojave

Since installing Mojave I cannot print. I have na Epson ET 3750. When I select print I get the spinning ball - I uninstalled and reinstalled to printer. I cannot even access printer in system settings - when i select it I get the spinning ball again.

OK - found out how to get to it. Ignore previous post. If anyone else is searching for this cups.conf file: Go to Finder>Go>Go to Folder> "/private/etc/cups/cupsd.conf"

But it has still not fixed the problem. EXCEPT: when I try to print, it shows the document going to the printer and then it disappears from the printer proxy screen, as if it had been printed. But nothing comes out of the printer. Have rebooted the printer, disconnected & reconnected the ethernet cable, deleted the printer (for the umpteenth time) and reinstalled it (again for the umpteenth time).

I'm going to start a support ticket to add weight to (hopefully) force Apple to do something about this.

Does Apple ever actually do anything to fix the messes they cause or do they just lean on the printer manufacturers to scramble and create new drivers every time Apple releases another shoddy OS that does nothing but add frivolous cosmetic things while breaking functionality that are crucial to people who's livelihood relies on being about to freakin print.

And its rather insulting that the banner ad at the top of this thread is pushing people to "Upgrade to macOS Mojave". Pfft.

It looks like Apple has fixed the problem, at least for me. After updating to Mojave 10.14.2, as I posted earlier in this thread, my Brother HL-5250DN, purchased in 2006, no longer printed, and Brother support said they only provide drivers for the printer through Mac OS 10.10. I just updated to OS 10.14.3, deleted and re-added the printer, let it auto select the driver, and now it works!

One other possible workaround I got from Brother tech support (but did not try) is to connect the printer to a computer directly with USB, rather connected to the network via ethernet.

I have Canon MG6360 and recently upgraded to Mojave. Problem is with printing from Preview and Safari the print options are not the same as before Mojave upgrade. Not able to print in grayscale even when its selected and no duplex printing.

Printing from Chrome there is no problems as there is an option to print using system dialog which then gives you the same printing options as before the upgrade to Mojave. Any suggestions to get my print options back for Preview would be appreciated. PS have tried the deleting the printers and adding with no luck. Many thanks

I use a Canon MX926...Printing from say Word is fine, but trying to print b/w emails is not possible. I have lost the quality and media option in the email printing screen. I used to go to Printer features and turn greyscale on but that does not work either, nor does double sided in email. What can I do?

I have spoken with Canon and they say it is an Apple software glitch.... Any advice?

I too have this problem. Regularly I get spinning beach balls when trying to print, requiring me to force-quite the application, go to the Printers & Scanners prefs pane, reset the printing system and then reinstall the printers.

The advance give-away that this problem has occurred again is that launching applications (such as Word or Adobe Illustrator) suddenly takes very much longer.

Something is causing the printing system to get corrupted, but now that Console only shows you logs from the point at which you launch it, I cannot look back to see what might have caused this problem.

My problem was that the the computer would find the printer but every time I tried to print the yellow light came on telling me the printer was busy. I contacted Brother and Apple both were helpful with the normal advice but the issue was not resolved. The printer however, printed from my laptop even though the desktop had issues. I copied the old Brother software from the liberty > printer folder and pasted into the the desktop folder. This worked, the issue was that Brother no longer supported my particular printer. I checked the Brother web site and it did state this but it took some looking and their techs did not seem to know this. Hope this helps anyone with a similar issue. Cheers JohnBrom

I have the same issue none of my networked printers work anymore after the Mojave upgrade some of them are multi-functioning, so the scanner is no longer working. If I connect a USB cable to my computer/printer I am able to use one of the printers. The other one is networked only.

I tried to reset the printers and it still does not work correctly for the networked printers.

Kodak ESP5250 - a quick search of the Kodak downloads seems to only produce a driver pack dated 22nd October 2015, and that says that it is compatible with MacOS versions up to 10.11.x. So the answer appears to be probably not.

Unfortunately manufacturers aren't very good at keeping old products up to date for new system versions. That may be to do with the fact that they make their money from selling you new devices, although some manufacturers are better than others.

In addition in this case, given that Kodak exited the inkjet market altogether back in 2012 or so, and this device dates back to 2010, I am afraid that the time has almost certainly come to move on to a different manufacturer and a new printer.
